Most dope heads come out of the woodwork when there is a report like this, deflecting to mentioning alcohol, or telling us how wonderful this stuff is and how it has the opposite effect  on people. Yet the stories come out and the world seems to deteriorate with more drugs being available.

But the fact remains alcohol cause most of the problems people have regarding things that alter your perceptions, and downright dangerous if you drive on it. People who've never tried weed tend to fear it, as they hear propaganda about how it does things like this, when it's a lot more likely it was an existing mental condition that puts most over the edge and not the weed.

True that some should never try any mind altering things, as they might be unable to handle any of it. Drugs have always been around, and always will be. Supply and demand. It's what's done with those drugs, as some should never be used by anyone. People that like to occasionally get high aren't dope heads, just as those who drink occasionally aren't alcoholics.

  • Blokes a nutter with or without the dope IMO.

  • But in very strong THC levels it will flip people out. Every one I know that smoked gunga for years into old age is deranged or in a home now with mental health issues

  • And everyone I know that smoked or smokes, is still alive and has families, jobs, houses and a decent life. I know people who have smoked daily for decades and are still productive. You make the choic

Playing it safe in a country not my own, where any excuse can be used to cause you trouble. I'm not hard up for it and will enjoy it when I return home.

I'm not comfortable doing it here either unless I'm at home. It feels like being outside around Thai's here with the traffic could bad trip.

Some look at people who smoke as potheads and trouble, judging them even if they're decent people doing no one any harm. If you're with friends of any nationality that enjoy smoking, in someone's home, there isn't a problem, but if locals around you don't like it's use, then you'll be labeled and it isn't a good thing , especially in a country not your own.

How would they know? It's more likely you are not comfortable being stoned around thai people.

No, I drink with Thais quite often. Friends of my girlfriend and co workers. I just won't get into the weed here as some don't accept those who do, and I don't need that.

No, as I've never smoked weed in Thailand, and I don't look the part in any way.

Rather a shallow statement considering how much alcohol is part of life and a commercial success story. Is it really a good idea to go down the same path with other drugs, especially gateway ones? The shopkeeper in the OP was 'stoned' was he not, presumably not Stones Best Bitter!

Nothing wrong with alcohol until it's abused. I love good wine, beer and tequila, but don't drink too much. Many have died abusing alcohol, either while driving or by alcohol poisoning. My best friend has dementia, brought on by alcohol abuse all his life. As far as the OP, people don't usually do things like this unless they are already prone to violence, or they are the ones who should never touch anything that alters thinking.
