Goodness such fragile ego and he is the leader of the most powerful nation in the world. Jesus wept. This man baby need a pacifier.

The goddam country needs a pacifier. He was elected not beamed down from space (even if it  sometimes seems like it).

77 million of 'em AFTER he'd told them what he was going to do.

'They're eatin' the dogs!' 55555

Edit: And now they're treating their Caribbean and Latin American neighbors like Putin treats Ukraine and Russia's other satellites.

My sympathies are severely limited.

What a total cry baby!

If of any interest Reagan statement ...

“You see, at first, when someone says, ``Let's impose tariffs on foreign imports,'' it looks like they're doing the patriotic thing by protecting American products and jobs. And sometimes for a short while it works -- but only for a short time. What eventually occurs is: First, homegrown industries start relying on government protection in the form of high tariffs. They stop competing and stop making the innovative management and technological changes they need to succeed in world markets. And then, while all this is going on, something even worse occurs. High tariffs inevitably lead to retaliation by foreign countries and the triggering of fierce trade wars. The result is more and more tariffs, higher and higher trade barriers, and less and less competition. So, soon, because of the prices made artificially high by tariffs that subsidize inefficiency and poor management, people stop buying. Then the worst happens: Markets shrink and collapse; businesses and industries shut down; and millions of people lose their jobs.
The memory of all this occurring back in the thirties made me determined when I came to Washington to spare the American people the protectionist legislation that destroys prosperity. Now, it hasn't always been easy. There are those in this Congress, just as there were back in the thirties, who want to go for the quick political advantage, who will risk America's prosperity for the sake of a short-term appeal to some special interest group, who forget that more than 5 million American jobs are directly tied to the foreign export business and additional millions are tied to imports. Well, I've never forgotten those jobs. And on trade issues, by and large, we've done well. In certain select cases, like the Japanese semiconductors, we've taken steps to stop unfair practices against American products, but we've still maintained our basic, long-term commitment to free trade and economic growth.”

And he was absolutely right.

The Soviet Union for generations had an isolated trade policy with its manufacturing economy protected by barriers. It collapsed economically. About the only thing it produced which countries beyond it's borders wanted to buy was military hardware, and that was because they either had no choice ( satelite states), no one else would sell to them (3rd world autocatic kleptocracies) or it was cheap. Most of it was crap anyway!

Do you want to carry a shopping bag with you everywhere you go just in case you pass a shop which actually has something to sell?

CANADA CHEATED AND GOT CAUGHT!!! ... Canada is trying to illegally influence the United States Supreme Court in one of the most important rulings in the history of our Country.

Whether Canada can influence a Supreme Court ruling or not, what has possibly got Mr. Trump's ire about that Supreme Court tariff case, maybe someone in the administration has said to him:

You know that Supreme Court tariff case, Mr. President, we could maybe lose.

Not inconceivable that we start seeing more of these signs all over the world.

I love how he bitch slaps Canada.

Yeah, Canada...do whatever you want. US will act accordingly.

Perhaps bigger whingers than the Israelis. On second thought...nah

Trump is off to Asia with his begging bowl. His tariff war backfire big time. All his bluff that he has concluded deals with a as South Korea and Japan are just his normal day of lies. China will not play nice. He wouldn’t be in a position to treat China the same way he treat Canada.

Agreed that this concern is warranted for those who voted for/support trump. Then again all should note that the majority of eligibale American voters did NOT vote for trump.
