A violent confrontation on Koh Chang, at 02.40on 26 October 2025 left two men dead and another injured after a roadside fight escalated into a knife attack. The victims, identified as Charoenrat Sangkakun and Nott Burachai, were found lying in pools of blood outside a bar in Soi Thianchai 1, Lonely Beach, Ko Chang subdistrict. A third man, Kwanjai Manotham, sustained a stab wound to his left rib and was taken for treatment.

Police said the incident followed a history of animosity between two groups of local youths who had clashed earlier at a nearby entertainment venue. Before the attack, Charoenrat and Nott were riding their motorcycles near Ban Kaibae when they were allegedly cut off by Teeradet, also known as “Min,” who was riding another motorcycle. Angered by the manoeuvre, they followed him and his friends to outside a closed bar, where an argument broke out and quickly turned violent.

Officers arriving at the scene discovered multiple knives, including a short knife, a serrated blade, a machete and a sharp spear-like weapon, believed to have been used by both sides. Police investigators, led by Pol Lt Chingchai Chotisiri and Pol Lt Col Samran Ploywhaen, along with tourist police and rescue volunteers, secured the scene. Later in the morning, forensic officers from Trat province returned to photograph and collect further evidence.

The suspect, Teeradet, who works at a well-known local entertainment venue, suffered facial wounds and a head injury caused by a hard object during the fight. He later contacted Koh Chang Police Station to surrender and is currently being questioned. He faces an initial charge of causing death by assault.

Investigators will continue to analyse forensic evidence, review CCTV footage and take witness statements to confirm the sequence of events. Police are expected to submit their findings to prosecutors once all evidence has been verified.
