Police raided two houses on 31 October 2025, in Moo 1, Huay Yai Sub-district, Bang Lamung District, arresting four foreigners, two Chinese, one Vietnamese, and one Malaysian, caught using crystal methamphetamine (ice) on-site. Authorities seized 500 grams of ice, 50 grams of methamphetamine (yaba), cannabis, drug paraphernalia, production equipment and chemicals suspected to be precursors for drug manufacture.

The operation, led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Chatchai Surachetphong, Commander of Region 2 Police, involved local commanders, immigration officers and district administration officials. The raid followed the 29 October arrest of two Chinese nationals who linked the houses to what police described as, a grey-zone Chinese network involved in drug use and production. Police disguised themselves as food delivery riders to approach the premises and apprehend the suspects.

At the first property, officers found two Chinese men and a Vietnamese woman injecting ice. Quantities of drugs were confiscated. The suspects identified the second house as a production site, where a Malaysian man was caught attempting to flush chemicals down a toilet. Police recovered additional drug production equipment stored in cardboard boxes.

During preliminary questioning, suspects claimed the drugs and equipment belonged to foreign friends, though authorities remain sceptical. Investigators are tracing the supply chain for both drugs and chemical precursors and are expanding efforts to identify additional network members.

Officials stated the raid aligns with national policy to combat drugs and target grey-zone Chinese criminal networks in Eastern Thailand’s tourist areas. Police highlighted that the operation demonstrates ongoing efforts to disrupt illicit drug production and distribution in Pattaya.
