Moving company recommendations

Featured Replies

Hello

I've moved several times now in Thailand and every time it has been expensive but a big hassle. Furniture got broken, left in poor state, things disorganized. I've not once seen professional movers that actually seem to care about your things.

What I'm looking for:

- properly disassemble large furniture and reassemble (so that closet doors still work and not just dangle about)

- reinstall furniture where it's fixed against the walls (e.g. leave things the way they find it, and not just leave it all standing randomly on the floor all over the place)

- handle things with care

- use proper large truck for transport (I have a house full of furniture to move and every time they arrived with vehicles too small, even after inspecting ahead of time)

- load and transport safely, without glass doors shattering and stuff being thrown about (I'm aware local roads suck for this, but should be doable when packed and loaded properly)

- relocate entire inventory of a 3br house + office + outdoors (but everything is packed neatly - it's really just moving boxes and large furniture. Everything else is already taken care of)

I guess, in a nutshell, I'm looking for a foreign-ran moving company.

Who can you recommend? How much have you paid in the past?

You don't just need a removable company you also need a carpenter/handyman :coffee1:

That was exactly my thinking - hire a furniture carpenter to do the disassembling / reassembling of some of the more complex furniture, to make sure it gets done right. It just seemed overkill / over the top, somewhat.
