A devastating landslide triggered by Typhoon Uwan hit Barangay Balangabang, Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya, resulting in the tragic deaths of two five-year-old twin boys. The incident occurred before dawn on Tuesday, November 10. The twins were sleeping with their family when the disaster struck at 2:30 a.m., according to Police Major Len Gomultin, Kayapa's police chief.

The children were rushed to the hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival. Their parents and another sibling were also injured during the landslide and have been hospitalized. Typhoon Uwan had been affecting the region for several days with heavy rainfall and strong winds contributing to unstable ground conditions. Landslides are a known hazard in the area, especially during severe weather, highlighting the need for better infrastructure and early warning systems.

The event underscores the importance of emergency response strategies and community awareness in regions prone to natural disasters.
