Police have arrested a 28-year-old woman accused of operating a website that sold counterfeit Rolex watches using heavily discounted promotions to attract buyers. The arrest took place on 15 November after officers from the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) raided her home in the Nawamin area of Bueng Kum district, Bangkok. Authorities say the suspect was caught preparing packages of fake luxury watches allegedly destined for customers who had ordered them online.

The investigation began when officers detected a website, rolex-watch.click, advertising large quantities of counterfeit Rolex watches in various models. The site promoted a 90% discount, which drew significant interest from online shoppers and led to a surge in orders. Police traced the operation back to Ms Sajee, who they say owned and managed the website from her residence in Nawamin.

According to the ECD, the suspect was found actively packing imitation watches into boxes at the time of the raid. Officers seized multiple counterfeit items bearing the Rolex trademark as evidence. She was arrested on suspicion of “possessing goods with counterfeit trademarks for the purpose of sale”, a criminal offence under Thai law.

Senior officers including Pol Maj Gen Tasanapoom Jaruprachya, Commander of the ECD, oversaw the operation, with orders carried out by Pol Col Phuwadet Julkasewi and Pol Lt Col Natthawut Pomngern. Investigators say the promotional pricing strategy was intended to lure customers into believing they were purchasing high-value items at steep discounts. The ECD added that many buyers had already placed orders before the raid took place.

Daily News reported that police have now sent the seized counterfeit watches and all related evidence to investigators at Subdivision 1 of the ECD for further legal action. Authorities emphasise that selling or distributing counterfeit branded goods carries significant penalties, and consumers are urged to exercise caution when encountering unusually low prices online. The case remains under investigation as officers assess the full scale of the fraud and identify additional victims.
