A 23-year-old online vendor, Phutawan, was arrested in Bangkok after allegedly robbing a petrol station using a fake gun. The incident, which took place on November 15, involved Phutawan disguising himself in delivery gear to commit the nighttime robbery. He reportedly threatened a staff member and escaped with a total of 6,000 baht in cash and goods.

Phutawan executed the crime on Bang Bon 1 Road, using his motorbike to flee the scene. Police tracked his movements, identifying a clothing change in Soi Ekachai 66 before he returned to his residence. Officers from Bang Khun Thian Police Station, led by Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, apprehended him two days after the robbery, executing a warrant from the Thonburi Criminal Court.

The suspect admitted to the crime, citing financial stress and family conflict as motivators. He confessed that his income from online sales and delivery work was insufficient for his needs. During the arrest, a motorbike, clothing, a mobile phone, cash, and the toy firearm were seized.

Authorities are now processing the evidence and the confession for further legal action. The case underlines the financial pressures faced by some individuals, which can lead to desperate measures. Police are handling all confiscated items as part of the ongoing investigation.

Future proceedings will determine the legal consequences for Phutawan. His arrest highlights the risks associated with economic struggles and the criminal behaviors they can incite. The judicial process will unfold as more details emerge from the investigation, reported The Thaiger.
