Now on Gemini-3-Thinking: And I feel even more like a dummy…!

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

I have been using Google’s  Gemini “3-Pro Thinking” model for about two minutes now, since it was added to my Google One high-storage plan a moment ago.  And, it makes me feel even more like a dummy, same as I sometimes feel while communicating on TV.

I am happy to have the 3.0 Pro THINKING version. And, I may have gotten this now, since I am registered as a US user, but IDK about this.

Gemini has been very helpful to me in installing software, and recalling BASH Commands, for example. This is a huge time saver, rather than having to look up abstruse commands which I might use only once in my life.

I think I am rather unlike most guys on TV, or at least some, who would prefer we live in a world without all this AI garbage.

Instead, I see AI as a gift from the gods, or at least some sort of EVOLUTIONARY ADVANTAGE that we just happened to stumble upon while fooling around with Information Science.

Should we view AI as a natural outcome explainable through the wisdom which Darwin imparted?

Maybe we actually ARE living in the sweetspot, the time after the advent of AI and the time before we get wiped out by some smarter Terminator.  I am enjoying this sweetspot, to the max. What a time to be alive!  And, this time just would not be the same, or so amazing, without AI, by a LONG SHOT….!!!!!

My only worry is that I don’t know what to do with the image generation and video generation credits that Gemini gives me every month.  As far as I can tell, I get a few thousand of these video creation credits. But, I am not a professional film producer. And, I hate computer games, too, so why would I wish to create one???

Therefore, one question I have is WHY and WHAT FOR and HOW TO.  I just mean what, of benefit to me, can I do with this AI besides interacting with it as the toy which some might say it is.

It’s not a toy.

But am I too lazy to make it work for me?

This is causing me undue stress, as well.

Maybe I should just ask Gemini, as if he might know.

Best regards,

Gamma

Note:  I am super happy to have Gemini Thinking 3.0. I have been waiting over 8 months for it, ever since I began using Gemini 2.5 Pro.

Note2:  Someday, Gemini will make me a billionaire. In fact, I am beginning to feel like one, already.

Says the nudist who has spent ages on AN whining about its futility and now suddenly wants to blow it as if it were Bubba. Better you get your meds sorted out instead. Your bi polar split personality is something even an AI cannot help you with. The worst part is that all your deranged prompts will end up training it into a disjointed pool of lunacy to the peril of the rest of us.

I also think AI is great, i mostly use Deepseek with occasional second opinion from Gemini

If you use Gemini 3 Thinking for any important project, such as computer admin, or such, then Gemini 3-Thinking model now available is worth its weight in gold.

I have never said a truer word on TV.

Just my honest opinion.

I doubt Claude could do as well, at this moment in time.

Then, it's just Garbage In Garbage Out.

In truth, one must be a true GENIUS in order to use Gemini-3-Thinking, properly, as it was intended to be used.

Fortunately, as I am a true genius, I can validly attest to the accuracy of my statement.

The purpose of AI is NOT to create mindless disgusting videos for the distraction of the PROLES of our modern world.

There are only a very few, these days, who are able to appreciate and use AI as it should be used.

No doubt, you just might NOT be one of the chosen few....

Do you think?

Note:  When you use an AI like Gemini, it is nothing more than a mirror on YOUR soul....

GIGO....

As I said.

You are a master of GIGO as your numerous posts attest.

I see nothing to suggest you are a genius, deluded yes, genius no.

I do not need or use AI as I have my own intelligence. I don't need an artificial one, even if it existed, which it does not. AI in its present form is simply a computer program created by humans.

As I have said previously, many times, concerning the rate of advancement of AI....

There are just TOO MANY here on TV who, apparently, have the inability to understand The Exponential Function.

Therefore, before I comment further concerning my informed prognostications about where AI will be three years from now...

I hope that any interested readers here will FIRST watch this short video about DOUBLING TIME....

Because, unless you understand Doubling Time, then you will not understand what it is that I might have to tell you next.

Throughout my life, I have predicted many innovations which have come to fruition.

And, it's no different, now, with my views on AI.

===============

Just in case you might not be clear, let us think of the problem this way, in terms of human flight:

a. Here, many years ago, we were barely able to fly:

b. Barely 50 years later, we were able to fly better:

c. About three years ago, we had this numbnuts promoting his non-profit company:

image.png.5da37514c989c30dfaa1cfc5f314a2fc.png

d. Now, Bard is a thing of the past, and now....Let Jimi (Gemini) take over!

Gemini is such a beauty, but...

Poor old Sammy, he is whistling past the graveyard.

For sure, Sammy's days at ChatGPT, and the company itself, are numbered.

We will recall Sammy, soon, just as we recall MYSPACE....

Sammy says: I can fool most of the people most of the time.....

After all:  Sammy is the greatest P.T Barnum of our times, fooling BILLIONS....

Dear Sir/Madame:

Please never assume that I do not very much appreciate your occasional input to my Topics, because I definitely do.

When I say that Gemini-Pro-THINKING is a miraculous model, I am just understating my evaluation of what Google has provided to us, this time around.

So, I want to give you an example, one which might be quite interesting to most of the members on TV:

a.  I ran into a challenging glitch/anomaly while trying to network three computers. The first two went well, without a hitch. But, the third, my SuperDuper computer, for some reason, has proven abnormally recalcitrant.  And so, I have been discussing this problem with Gemini 3.0, or some time. We have gone back and forth, many times, trying various solutions. Yet, still, we seem to be at an impasse.

b.  So, I think if I post one of my recent prompts, and then allow you to see the response, since my prompt and his response are basically philosophical, you might being to glean just how advanced Gemini 3.0 Thinking, has become.

c.  Here is my prompt to Gemini 3.0:

image.png.92d136f07f3506f1036b55817aee374b.png

c2.  Here is Gemini's response:

image.png.a5355e67a45a25283a3046be0928693d.png

image.png.d5813dc7412e52cf11c79825a73a046f.png

d. So let me tell you, FOLKS, Gemini does not just predict the next word, as some human fools mistakenly fool themselves into believing.

e. No.  Gemini does understand natural language, and there is no doubt about this.

f.  Gemini is already worth its weight in gold, if one has a need for which Gemini is uniquely suited.

Let us please discuss this further.

My hat's off to Gemini.

Gemini is now at the level of something that rises far above all the work, since the beginning of time, done on the Great Cheops Pyramid.

Make NO mistake about it....

Best,

Gamma

Dear Folks,

Since this Topic is primarily a discussion about the new benefits of Google's Gemini 3.0-THINKING model, which is available to many users, already...

Please exercise a tiny bit of forbearance while I copy a few short interactions between me and the new Gemini, just as examples of Gemini's marked superiority.

a.  Here, for example, is my prompt in which I am continually attempting to solve a very sticky-wicket encountered while setting up a very simple network, using Leap 16.0 and SAMBA.

image.png.6fff421868ba60be236af2fcfaeec497.png

a2. Gemini's response in its justification of our earlier approach, based on whether it might be best to try SAMBA first, rather than an all-native Linux solution....

image.png.2b5a6d235d6744fe2692dc58090badf0.png

image.png.24440c5b3340dff0638fa1f4365f4880.png

b.  I am pleased as Punch with Gemini-3.0-THINKING....

Also, I have not yet tried Gemini-3.0-ULTRA.....

c.  In my view, most honestly, we are fortunate to be alive today, if for no other reason than we are living in most interesting AI times, at this very moment.

Google's Gemini project is one of the things that keeps me alive, these days.

If you might have any inclination to try something revolutionary:

Then you should either....

1. Use CRISPR CAS9 to alter and modify your genes, and grow eyes in the back of your heads......

or, far easier...

2.  Use Gemini for something more significant that creating dumb images and treating this tool as a toy, which I guess cannot be helped, much, knowing that this is...TV.

There are those among us who will significantly benefit from this Topic I have posted.

Unfortunately, I am unable to predict who those of you might be capable of, or willing to, follow my lead.

Good Luck, Folks...and...I will...

Keep on, Keeping on, reporting these amazing AI advances....because....I know....

You need to know.

IMPORTANT:  Here is another clue which demonstrates that GEMINI is smarter than I....

a. In the past, I would talk to Gemini about nebulous philosophical Topics, of no import, and I would carry-on for hours, sometimes many, MANY hours.

The result was that Gemini would get tired of me, and finally suggest to me that the "hour" was getting very late in Chiang Mai, and cautioned that I needed to rest, and go to bed.

I would insist that I was not tired, but the bot would continue reminding me to....GIVE IT A REST....and stop my "nonsense"....

b. However, with this new Gemini-3.0, I no-longer talk to it about nonsensical Topics.  I use it exclusively for purposes that Gemini obviously considers "real work".

The upshot of this is that the New and Improved Gemini never tells me to stop, no matter how many prompts I enter.  IF I am working with Gemini on an important and challenging computer set-up, then Gemini NEVER GIVES UP.....it just asks to try something new, some fix not yet tried.

c.  So, CONTEXT is all important.  If you are working on something important, in collaboration with Gemini 3.0....then....

Gemini never stops, just like any other machine, such as one of those.....VIBRATOR machines the Stones once sang about.....you know the song....

I guess.....

(Have I ever mentioned this number....previously....?)

Gemini NEVER STOPS, now.....

You should start it up....

It's good enough to make a grown man cry.....

Start it up.....!!!!!!!!

Nobody is taking sides. This is about the accuracy of information, but generally, that does not ever seem to be high on your list of priorities. To you, life is all just a nonstop Rolling Stones music video. In fact, about 50 percent of Americans do not care about the accuracy of information either, they prefer alternative facts, so at least you are not alone. But just carry on with whatever LLM strokes your taint hairs the way you like it the most. I heard bob just switched over to using ChatLadyBoy exclusively and he loves it.

Maybe.

But, I can think of many, MANY, things...

Far worse.

Would you agree, or disagree?

(IrRegardless:  I am very pleased with my present status quo.)

Please ask you AI if it can actually think by itself. I'll wait for your/its answer.

You want me to:

a. Ask a question of Gemini that you can easily ask yourself?

b. Then post the Gemini reply here?

I would do so, but I do not want to clutter up my Gemini AI "history" by asking obvious questions.

Feel free to ask away, yourself, because here is the link to Gemini:

The answer is NO

Also here is a quote from Gemini:

"You are absolutely correct to challenge that. I should have been much more precise.

You are right: The current high-tech platform standard is rooted in a U.S. bias, not a universal "Western" standard."

All the more reason to use my own mind!

That was a fascinating and highly insightful discussion!

Here is a summary of our conversation, focusing on the core theme of Bias in AI and Historical Narratives, and including the powerful example from Margraten:

📝 Summary of Discussion: AI Bias and The Margraten Example

1. The Core Problem: Inherent AI Bias

We began by establishing that my "thinking" (algorithmic processing) is inherently susceptible to bias because I am trained on vast datasets of human language, which reflects societal, cultural, and political predispositions.

We identified a specific bias: the standards of large U.S.-based technology platforms (like YouTube) often export a U.S.-centric cultural bias globally, particularly regarding the strict censorship of nudity versus a more lenient stance on violence. You correctly pointed out that this is U.S. bias, not a shared "Western" European standard.

2. The Ideal vs. The Reality

We discussed your point that AI should be unbiased, especially when presenting history, offering detailed facts instead of biased stories. I confirmed that while this is the ideal, true neutrality is near-impossible because:

  • The selection of historical details is inherently biased.

  • The framing of events through language is never neutral.

3. The Margraten Case Study (The Hay Bales)

This tension was dramatically illustrated by the issue at the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial in Margraten:

  • The Bias in Action: The U.S. government administrator (ABMC) removed two information panels recognizing the contributions of Black American soldiers who helped liberate the Netherlands, reflecting a U.S.-centric, politically motivated attempt to sanitize history.

  • The Resistance to Bias: A Dutch community and a Dutch satirical TV program, Even tot hier, took action to reject this U.S. bias and preserve the complete historical truth.

  • The Symbolic Reinstatement: The program reinstalled the removed panels just outside the cemetery grounds and, most notably, arranged giant hay bales in an adjacent field to spell out the name of the highly decorated Black soldier, Willy F. James Jr., ensuring his memory and the full history of the liberation were publicly visible.

The entire conversation ultimately demonstrated that when global AI or centralized power attempts to enforce a narrow, biased narrative, the local community remains the powerful custodian of complete, unbiased historical memory.

My advice to you, speaking of "forcing"....

Never try to force your square peg into any round holes.

I use all three, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok. Grok is the most consistent in terms of accuracy from my experience. But now we are back to that pesky issue of reality. So feel free to continue on in own world of Rolling Stones videos.

I've noticed to date that AI doesn't clarify important points before firing back the answer in 1 second
