Dangerous cones on Sukhumvit

Featured Replies

They've put cones down in the middle of the road from Sattahip to Ambassador hotel, very dangerous, on a motorbike have to swerve round them and if a car hits one and moves it, it's likely a bike will hit it, even worse at night.

Craziest thing they've done on the road

Don’t know the area, a little difficult to envision this without a photo. Have often seen cones/pylons laid out that are not hazardous.

No explanation why, I'm guessing there's been accidents and they think it's helping but it's the opposite. If it's 4 lanes there will be cones down the middle so it's a problem when you need to go left or get in the right lanes, they haven't thought it through

These ones are, just observing other vehicles they have the same issues, sudden left and right swerves at speed trying to get through the gap, if opt for slowing down likely a car will hit you from behind

You surprised?

Thats pretty much the SOP with various more or less temporary road guidance things. The prime example of the 'not thought thru' is the local habit of placing a stone, brick or tree branch few meters before a died/parked truck or car on roadside as 'warning'

And where they should have something, like the holes dug on middle or road, they often barely put anything, leading people driving/riding into the hole

the other classic is road closed, not at the start of the road but right at the end where it's closed
