A landslide caused six riverside shop-houses to collapse into the Nan River at Tha Sak, Uttaradit, on 20 November 2025. The incident occurred in a 100-year-old market area, prompting emergency evacuation of over 40 neighbouring homes. Authorities confirmed no injuries or fatalities, while emergency teams secured the area.

The collapse followed warnings on 19 November when residents reported cracking sounds and structural damage in riverside buildings. Heavy flooding in late September 2025 had raised Nan River water levels, eroding riverbanks and undermining the foundations of several buildings. As water levels receded, the weakened soil caused subsidence, triggering structural failures, including the full collapse of a three-storey shop-house owned by 62-year-old Phulsuk Santinron.

Municipal and provincial authorities, with volunteers, quickly evacuated residents and moved belongings to safer locations. The affected area has been cordoned off, declared an emergency disaster zone, and experts from the Department of Public Works and Town Planning are assessing the stability of remaining buildings. Residents of over 40 nearby homes remain under close monitoring for potential further subsidence.

Phulsuk Santinron described hearing loud cracking around 02:40 on 20 November and evacuating belongings before the collapse. By early morning, the building had fully fallen, with adjacent homes sustaining serious structural damage. Relief efforts, including temporary shelters and food support, are being coordinated by local authorities and nearby temples.

Amarin reported that authorities warn that other riverside structures remain at risk and continue to restrict public access while monitoring the site. Long-term recovery measures and structural assessments are planned to prevent similar future incidents.
