Trump Pushes Ukraine Peace Blueprint as Allies Bristle at ‘Final Offer’ Pressure

President Donald Trump insisted Saturday that Washington’s controversial 28-point peace plan for Ukraine is not a “final offer,” even as US pressure on Kyiv intensifies and key allies express deep misgivings. Speaking at the White House, Trump said “we have to get it ended,” signalling flexibility — but with a hard deadline: Ukraine has until 27 November to respond.

The plan, widely criticised as tilted toward Moscow, demands Ukrainian withdrawals from remaining parts of Donetsk, freezes front lines in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, and effectively recognises Russian control of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea. It would cap Ukraine’s military at 600,000 personnel, station European jets in Poland rather than Ukraine, and hold out vague “security guarantees” while expecting both Russia and NATO to stop expanding. In return, sanctions on Russia would be lifted and Moscow invited back into the G7, restoring the G8.

At the G20 summit in South Africa, leaders from Europe, Canada, and Japan said the draft has elements “essential for a just and lasting peace,” but warned it needs substantial revisions — particularly on border changes and restrictions that could leave Ukraine exposed to a future attack. They also stressed that anything involving EU or NATO structures must be approved by member states.

Zelensky, warning Ukraine faces “one of the most difficult moments in our history,” said Kyiv risks losing “dignity or a key partner.” He has appointed Andriy Yermak to lead Ukraine’s negotiating team, pledging a constructive but firm approach.

Security officials from the US, UK, France, Germany and Ukraine gather in Geneva on Sunday as Washington’s Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, and other envoys attempt to salvage consensus.

Putin said Moscow has seen the proposal and is “willing to show flexibility,” though he insists Russia is fully prepared to keep fighting. With Russian troops still advancing in the southeast, Ukraine’s reliance on US weapons and intelligence underscores the high stakes ahead of Geneva.

Seems to me trump’s trying to surrender Ukraine without even having the folks in the area (the Baltic states included in the (peace plan) surrender…..trump makes me ashamed to be an American.

Russia should keep fighting , get a bigger part of the Ukraine.
