Money exchange in Roi et?

Featured Replies

Where about in roi et can i exchange some cash to thai baht at a good rate?

The hint on Robinson (Central) is the one that looks promising. If a bank is the only option then branches at Robinson might be best.

Don't expect excellent rates.

For 5 digit EUR/GBP/USD amounts a trip to Khon Kaen might be worth.

Differences between banks are marginal.

SCB a few satangs better than Krungsri or Bangkok Bank

Just went to all of the banks in Robinson Roi et and they wouldnt accept my cash(sek). They all pointed to the pink exchange office outside(money queen) which i wont use(30 %less than the banks),seem like the staff get a kickback from sending customers to him..does Anyone have succes with any other banks in Roi et for exchange currency?

SEK?

Swedish Crowns?

You better mentioned that from the beginning.

I remember that there was a particular problem with this and another Nordic currency.

As far as I remember the national banks didn't (or don't) accept returned cash. There was a period when SEK wasn't accepted at all.

For reference: TT Exchange in Pattaya shows a rate of 2.25 for the SEK.

While the currency market rate is about 3.47.

Bad luck. There should be a clear warning: don't take Nordic cash for travel.

Yes Swedish krona, true seems like they dont want this currency..they did t say right away but all kinds of excuses..machine brooken, money old..and another outlets give like you say about 30 % lower..including super rich khon kaen..

There is a 'MoneySaver' currency exchange upstairs in the Big C mall now. Not sure how long that'll last as nothing stays open long there.

But it's not their fault.

Refer to your cash hating government. All cashless.

My fellow Swiss made sure that cash will stay a citizens constitutional right.

You can walk to the most remote place in Thailand with no success.

VASU exchange in Bangkok (one of the most recommended) offers 2.85. Good luck finding any better.

Change SEK to EUR in Sweden before travelling (if that is still possible with a good rate).

Sure disappointing.

But as I explained there was and obviously is a problem with Swedish Crowns.

I bet all banks will refuse.

Just looked up Bangkok Bank site.

No cash rates for Swedish, Danish and Norwegian cash.

The rates for buying cash are last column to the right.
No rate.

Same for Danish and Norwegian.
