A 15-year-old boy was found dead in his bedroom in Bangkok after a shotgun discharged under unclear circumstances, leaving his mother in shock. The incident occurred on 29 November 2025 at a home in Moo Baan Phibun on Phibunsongkhram Road, Bang Sue district. Police and forensic teams were called to the scene to investigate.

The victim was discovered lying on his back, wearing a white short-sleeved shirt, a black long-sleeved jacket and blue jeans, with a gunshot wound under his chin. A five-shot long-barrelled shotgun and a carrying case were found nearby. Authorities reported no signs of a struggle or forced entry in the home.

According to the boy’s mother, he had recently returned from Udon Thani after completing lower secondary school to prepare for vocational college entrance exams. She described him as cheerful and without apparent stress. She had left him alone briefly in the bedroom while taking a shower downstairs and had specifically instructed him not to handle his father’s gun.

Police preliminarily suspect the firearm discharged accidentally. Rescue volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation transported the body to Phramongkutklao Hospital for an autopsy. The incident highlights the dangers of unsecured firearms in domestic settings.

Daily News reported that the family is expected to arrange funeral rites following the autopsy. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances and safety measures regarding firearm storage in the household.
