More than 100 men and women, the majority reportedly under 18, were detained after police raided a Phnom Penh venue suspected of offering sexual services, officials said on Sunday. The operation at the “Phat Aun” restaurant in Prey Sar commune, Dangkor district, took place at about 9.30pm on 29 November following several days of investigation prompted by local complaints.

Officers from the Department of Anti‑Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection, working with Dangkor district authorities, surrounded the premises and arrested those inside. Police said people found not to be involved in criminal activity would be returned home, while others were being transferred to the National Police Headquarters for questioning and legal action.

Authorities described the site as operating covertly as a brothel and masquerading as a karaoke establishment. The raid forms part of a wider crackdown on prostitution and trafficking, under the direction of General Sar Thet, Commissioner‑General of the National Police.

Separately, police in Kampong Thom province carried out a related operation at a karaoke shop branded “Mlup Leap” in Doung Village, Ballang Commune, Baray District. That raid on 27 November, led by Brigadier General Kang Koy of the Anti‑Human Trafficking and Gender Division and coordinated with local prosecutors, resulted in the arrest of the alleged owner, 43‑year‑old Vy Sok Khy, and the rescue of eight victims, five of whom were minors, officials said.

Lieutenant General Heng Sophal and Deputy Prosecutor Pich Moly were reported to have overseen the Kampong Thom action. Prosecutors and anti‑trafficking investigators are preparing charges and further legal procedures in both cases.

The twin operations underline growing enforcement against establishments accused of exploiting minors and organising prostitution. Authorities say investigations will continue as they seek to identify organisers and provide support to victims.

ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français

ThaiVisa, it's also in French

So the police tactic is surround the place. Arrest everyone, and sort them all out at the police station.

Can you imagine what it would be like if you were just a patron drinking and listening to music or there to eat?

With respect, this was not an establishment for respectable patrons!

reference Khmer Times 1/12/2025:-

According to a police officer, after receiving reports from residents that the above location was secretly providing sexual services, a detailed investigation by the police took place for several days before the Anti-Trafficking and Protection of Minors Police Department, in cooperation with local authorities in Dangkor District, raided the “Phat Aun” restaurant and surrounded and arrested several men and women. During this operation, more than 100 men and women were arrested, most of whom were minors under the age of 18.

Those who were not involved will be sent home.

Gary Glitter couldn't make it.He is in jail.

Yes, thank God! IMO he should be kept in jail. He is a dangerous paedophile.

For those that may not have heard of him, for reference: (UK)

Gary Glitter will stay in (UK) prison after the Parole Board refused the disgraced singer's bid to be released.

Glitter, 81, was recalled to jail less than six weeks after he was released halfway through his 16-year sentence in 2023 for breaching his licence conditions by allegedly viewing downloaded images of children.........The Parole Board last year said it was "not satisfied that release at this point would be safe for the protection of the public" after a hearing held behind closed doors..............Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, will be eligible for a further review at a date set by the (UK) Ministry of Justice. His sentence expires in February 2031.................He was made bankrupt earlier this year after failing to pay more than £500,000 in damages to a woman who sued him for abusing her when she was 12 years old.............He was expelled from Cambodia in 2002, and in March 2006 was convicted of sexually abusing two girls, aged 10 and 11, in Vietnam, where he spent two-and-a-half years in prison.............But he was back behind bars (in the UK) weeks later after reportedly trying to access the dark web and images of children.
