Governor Chadchart Sittipunt

Bangkok residents express strong satisfaction with Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, as revealed by a recent poll. The survey, conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration from November 25 to December 2, involved 2,000 voters across all 50 districts of the capital, assessing his performance in 17 key policy areas.

Chadchart excels in managing green spaces, pavements, and cleanliness, with 37.20% rating his work in parks as "very good" and 38.75% as "quite good." Pavement and street vendor management received similar praise, with 36.70% "very good" and 40.70% "quite good." His efforts in cleanliness and flood management have also garnered positive feedback, demonstrating a robust performance in urban management.

Public service delivery by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration earned positive reviews, resonating with 40.25% considering it "quite good" and 21.95% "very good." In contrast, transport and public health garnered mixed feedback. Public transport was seen as "quite good" by 40.10%, yet 17.15% found it "not very good." Public health received 38.60% approval as "quite good," but only garnered 20.95% as "very good."

People perceived the governor's approach to corruption and the cost of living as weak points. Tackling corruption in BMA agencies received mixed feedback with only 25.05% rating it as "quite good," while handling the cost of living was rated "not very good" by 33.40% and "very poor" by 20.20%. Despite clearer challenges in these areas, overall satisfaction remains robust.

Moving forward, 46.55% of respondents expressed being "quite satisfied" overall, with an additional 31.85% being "very satisfied" with Chadchart's performance. A smaller portion, 14.70%, felt "not very satisfied," and a minority of 6.70% were "not satisfied at all," leaving a positive sentiment in place. With these insights, Chadchart’s administration might focus on strengthening weaker areas to boost overall public approval further, reported the Bangkok Post.

Key Takeaways

  • Governor Chadchart excels in urban-management areas like parks and cleanliness.
  • Mixed results were observed in transport and public health efforts.
  • Corruption and cost of living remain weak points for public sentiment.
