I am using Firefox, the Toolbar which used to run across the top of the page has disappeared. How can I restore it?

Right click on the top Firefox bar to display the context menu. Select Bookmarks Toolbar and set it to Always show the toolbar.

An alternative to my solution above, when in Firefox, CTRL+Shift+B toggles between showing and hiding the bookmarks toolbar
