On December 17, Deputy Prime Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas led the Thailand–China Investment Forum 2025 in Shanghai, targeting increased Chinese investment in electric vehicles, digital, and clean energy sectors. The event attracted over 550 investors, emphasizing Thailand's commitment to collaborating with China in these strategic industries. Ekniti highlighted Thailand's readiness to be a manufacturing hub despite global economic uncertainties.

The forum follows ongoing robust trade and investment ties between Thailand and China, with significant growth potential in industries where China excels. Ekniti introduced the "Quick Big Win" economic policy, promoting future-oriented investments and unveiling the "Thailand FastPass." This initiative aims to streamline approval processes and minimize bureaucratic hurdles for investors, facilitating easier business setup in Thailand.

Attendees, including officials and private sector representatives from both countries, discussed investment incentives and regulations. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary-General of the Board of Investment, participated in discussions to further build investor confidence. The strong turnout underscores Thailand's attractiveness as an investment destination for Chinese entrepreneurs.

Looking ahead, this roadshow in Shanghai is expected to deepen economic ties and attract more investments in high-growth sectors. By establishing such mechanisms and hosting forums, Thailand positions itself as a favorable environment for foreign investment, aiming to enhance bilateral cooperation with China, reported The Nation.
