Police have arrested a 30-year-old Myanmar national in connection with a brutal murder in Chanthaburi, where a man was killed, bound and concealed inside a bin hidden in a bamboo grove. The suspect, identified only as Mr N., was detained by officers from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the Highway Police Division on 17 December 2568 in Samut Sakhon province. He is one of three suspects named in an arrest warrant issued by the Chanthaburi Provincial Court.

The arrest followed an intensive manhunt after investigators tracked the suspect’s movements to the Om Noi area of Krathum Baen district. Police intercepted him on a roadside inside Soi 124, Phetkasem Road, confirmed his identity against the warrant and took him into custody. Mr N. admitted he was the person named in the warrant but denied all charges, claiming he had no involvement in the crime.

The case dates back to 4 December 2568, when officers at Na Yai Am Police Station in Chanthaburi received reports of a shocking discovery. An unidentified male body was found bound at the hands and feet, wrapped in cloth and stuffed inside a bin before being dumped among roadside bamboo in Na Yai Am district. The condition of the body indicated a deliberate and systematic attempt to conceal both the death and its cause.

Following the discovery, investigators from Provincial Police Region 2 launched an extensive inquiry using forensic evidence and witness testimony. Their work led to the identification of three suspects allegedly involved in the killing and disposal of the body. Investigators at Na Yai Am Police Station then compiled evidence and sought arrest warrants, which were approved by the Chanthaburi Provincial Court.

After the warrants were issued, police pursued the suspects across provinces. On 17 December 2568, intelligence reports indicated that Mr N. had surfaced in Samut Sakhon, prompting coordination between local investigators and highway police to plan a rapid interception. He was subsequently transferred to Na Yai Am Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Police said the operation was conducted under the direction of Pol Lt Gen Nattasak Chewnarassai, Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, Pol Maj Gen Pornsak Laorujiralai, Commander of the Highway Police Division, and Pol Col Phakphol Suchon, Superintendent of Highway Police Sub-Division 2. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects.
