Police are investigating an incident in which a foreign driver allegedly used a car to block and confront an elderly man and his 12-year-old granddaughter, leaving the child distressed and in tears. The confrontation, which occurred on 18 December, has sparked widespread public concern after video footage circulated online. The family has since filed a formal police complaint seeking legal action.

The case came to public attention after the popular social media page “Jae Moi v+” shared a video clip of the incident. In the footage, a foreign man, believed to be Chinese, is seen driving a Mercedes-Benz aggressively before cutting in front of the victims’ vehicle and stopping to confront them. The incident reportedly caused the young girl to panic and cry uncontrollably due to fear.

According to a key eyewitness, a food delivery rider who was nearby at the time, the Mercedes-Benz was driven at high speed in a manner that appeared intended to collide slightly with the motorcycle. The driver then swerved in front to block it and exited his vehicle to challenge the occupants. Concerned that the situation might escalate, the rider began recording video as evidence.

The footage shows the foreign man displaying intimidating behaviour and attempting to approach the man and his granddaughter. During the confrontation, which lasted around two minutes, the child became visibly frightened and started crying. The man reportedly tried to remain calm while shielding the child from the situation.

After several bystanders noticed the disturbance and stepped in to help the man and the child, the foreign driver retreated. Witnesses said that once more people gathered at the scene, the man quickly returned to his car and drove away. No physical assault was reported, but the emotional impact on the child was described as severe.

Following the incident, the family of the victims reported the matter to local investigators. Police confirmed that a complaint has been filed and that the video recorded by the delivery rider will be used as key evidence to identify and summon the suspect for questioning. Authorities have not yet disclosed the location of the incident or the identity of the driver.

Naewna reported that the incident has triggered strong reactions online, with many social media users questioning the behaviour of some foreign visitors or residents in Thailand. Calls have been made for police to swiftly locate the suspect and pursue legal action to ensure public safety and accountability.
