In a chilling discovery, a headless body was found by a local fisherman in a roadside forest area in Bangkok's Khan Na Yao district on December 18. Rescue workers were alerted around 4.30 pm and responded swiftly to the marshland, which posed challenges due to dense reeds and standing water.

The body was severely mutilated, with the torso separated from the legs and the head missing. It appeared to have been deceased for several days, showing signs of animal scavenging. The fisherman stumbled upon the remains while fishing and promptly informed the rescue team.

Rescue workers had to traverse approximately 200 metres through thick vegetation to reach the location, which was inaccessible by vehicle. Initial assumptions by rescuers considered the possibility of the deceased being a local fisherman, but the absence of any fishing gear or belongings at the scene contradicted this theory.

Residents described the area as isolated and dangerous after dark, suggesting that its secluded nature might have contributed to the tragedy. The body is now undergoing forensic examination to ascertain more details.

Police are diligently investigating the case to establish the identity of the individual and the cause of death, considering all possibilities, including foul play. This incident follows a similar discovery on December 14 in Nakhon Sawan province, where another headless body was found in a sugarcane field, highlighting potential links or a disturbing pattern.
