  • Whatever is going on in Gaza is 100% at the hands of the Palestinian "leadership" and the associated supporters of related filthy terrorists the world over. Of course, that same filth is responsible f

  • I'd be surprised if there is actually a 'surge' of anti-semitism in the UK. Myself I don't know anyone who feels that way.   There may be virulent anti-Israel feelings due to Israel's last 2

Is this your surrender?

Not at all.

I’m rather looking forward to some new points of view we’ve not heard before.

Though my hopes aren’t high.

What other points of view do you want?

Good you didn't have high hopes.

I wonder who else we could apply that to?

Antisemitism applies only to Jews; hatred and discrimination can apply to any race, ethnicity or religion.

Where is your evidence that this antisemitic attack was by anyone from ‘the left’?

It's only circumstantial, but the people who shot up the house yelled "Free Palestine" and it's unlikely a neo-Nazi or other rightwing antisemite would use those words.

Also, Hanukkah as a holiday has been criticized by leftist groups in the U.S. because it celebrates the recapture of Jerusalem and rededication of the Second Temple by Jewish rebels. Hanukkah is condemned by these groups as a justification and glorification of modern Israeli settlement on Palestinian land.

Even Judaism did have great inspiration from previous believes before them, Judaism is the root of all major book religions, but also the most hated.

Why have they been so exposed to hate throughout the history? Anyone have a good answer to that? I mean everywhere they go, there are incidents throughout the history, and they have been blaimed for ?

In the ancient world before the common era (BCE/BC), Jewish people were primarily blamed for social and cultural "misanthropy"—a perceived hatred of non-Jews—due to their monotheism and strict religious laws.

Ancient Accusations (Before 1 AD/CE)

The earliest recorded animosity toward Jews emerged from Hellenistic Egypt and the Greco-Roman world:

Spreading Disease: In the 3rd century BCE, the Egyptian priest Manetho alleged that the Israelites were not liberated from Egypt but were actually "polluted derelicts" and lepers who were expelled to protect the country's health.

Misanthropy and Antisocial Behavior: Greek and Roman writers (such as Hecataeus of Abdera) accused Jews of leading a "misanthropic and inhospitable way of life" because they refused to eat with, marry, or worship the gods of their neighbors.

Laziness: The Jewish practice of observing the Sabbath (resting every seventh day) was widely mocked by Romans as a sign of inherent laziness.

Atheism: Because Jews worshipped a single, invisible God and rejected the statues of the polytheistic world, they were sometimes accused of being atheists or "cloud-worshippers".

Ritual Murder (Early Roots): Although widely associated with the Middle Ages, the earliest known claim of ritual murder appeared in the 2nd century BCE; the Greco-Egyptian author Apion claimed Jews kidnapped a Greek every seven years to sacrifice him in their Temple.

Angering the Gods: Like other minorities, Jews were sometimes blamed for natural disasters, with neighbors claiming their refusal to worship local deities brought "divine anger" upon the community.

Major Historic Blame (After Jesus)

While you requested a focus on the period before Jesus, these later accusations are the most pervasive in historical discourse:

Deicide: The 2nd-century charge that Jews were collectively responsible for the death of Jesus, often called the "Christ-killer" libel.

The Black Death: During the 14th century, Jews were blamed for the Bubonic Plague and accused of poisoning wells to kill Christians.

Blood Libel: The medieval myth that Jews murdered Christian children to use their blood in ritual practices (such as making Passover matzah).

Economic Conspiracies: The 19th-century invention of "Jewish power," popularized by the forged Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which blamed Jews for controlling global media, banking, and starting wars.

Still in this historic lines not accused of stealing and capture land from Palestinians with terror before and after established the state Israel.
