A trail runner has made a shocking discovery after finding a man’s body in a forested area of Doi Suthep–Pui National Park in Chiang Mai, prompting a police investigation and a forensic examination to determine the cause of death. Authorities confirmed that the death remains unexplained, with no immediate signs of violence found at the scene. The discovery was reported on 24 December 2025 at approximately 15:25 local time, when officials at Doi Suthep–Pui National Park were alerted by a trail runner who encountered the body. The location was identified as the Mae Pan Garden area within the national park, in Suthep subdistrict, Mueang district, Chiang Mai province. Following the report, park officials coordinated with rescue personnel from National Park Rescue Unit 1 in Chiang Mai, officers from Phuping Police Station, and a forensic physician to attend the scene.

 

Upon arrival, authorities found the body of one adult male lying inside a forested section of the park. Preliminary assessments suggested the deceased was likely a local resident from the area. An initial examination found no clear wounds or obvious indications of assault, leaving the circumstances of death unclear at this stage of the investigation.
