A drunk-driving crash involving a pickup truck left one person dead and four others injured after the vehicle struck multiple vehicles and ploughed into a grocery shop in Krathum Baen district, Samut Sakhon province, on the morning of 25 December 2025. The impact caused extensive damage to the shop and several vehicles along Ban Don Kai Dee–Tha Sao Road, prompting an emergency response from police, medical staff and rescue workers.

Police said the incident was reported at 10.58am to Krathum Baen Police Station, where Pol Lt Kitthiwat Suwannaprasert, a deputy investigation officer, coordinated the response. Officers, doctors from Krathum Baen Hospital and Ruamkatanyu Foundation rescue workers attended the scene in Moo 5, Don Kai Dee subdistrict, to assist victims and secure the area.

At the scene, a black Bangkok-registered pickup truck with a rear cage was found embedded inside a grocery shop, destroying one shop unit. Beneath the vehicle, rescuers discovered the body of a man trapped under the chassis. Despite urgent CPR after extraction using cutting equipment, he was pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries. Four injured people had already been taken to hospital before police completed their initial examination.

Investigators also found a bronze-gold pickup truck that had been rear-ended and five damaged motorcycles scattered nearby. The scale of the wreckage indicated that the black pickup driver had lost control at high speed before colliding with several vehicles and the shop.

Natthapong, aged 27, the son of the shop owner, told police he was inside the shop when he heard a loud collision before the black pickup burst through the storefront. He said the vehicle pinned a man beneath it, while the driver, a Myanmar national, got out appearing intoxicated, prompting residents to restrain him.

Thanakorn, the driver of the bronze-gold pickup, said he had been driving normally when he saw the black pickup swerving at high speed. He reported that it struck the rear of his vehicle, causing it to spin and hit motorcycles, while the black pickup continued forward, striking more vehicles and the shop, resulting in injuries and a fatality.

Naewna reported that police have detained the Myanmar national who was driving the black pickup for further questioning and alcohol testing. Officers said they will summon witnesses and review CCTV footage to support the case, and confirmed that legal action will proceed in accordance with the law.

I know some places like that in the U.S. of A.

Fortunately I am retired and no longer have to work in those areas!

Slopply drunk to the extent that you manage to do that at 11 am on a work day? That's pretty messy.
