Don't think location matters if frozen properly.

I prefer to see the beasties swimming around in a tank. If it's frozen I might as well buy from Tops and cook myself.

Thats one of the few places I will eat seafood in Bangkok (nowadays at my age). Hotel Buffets, especially large chains, will have higher quality, plus if you get sick, you have more recourse than a cart.

I do not knowingly eat farmed shrimp or farmed salmon anywhere (which means I eat no salmon). I ate virtually no seafood at all in Cambodia, and rarely in Bangkok. When I did, it was high grade sushi or trips down river or to Ta Chin where its coming off the boats, although I confess a weakness for crab fried rice
