'dual-use’ items barred from aid organisations

Featured Replies

US forces deployed to the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC), established in October to monitor the Donald Trump-brokered ceasefire and plan for Gaza’s future. arrived in October prepared to launch a major logistics effort to get aid supplies into Gaza.

They were surprised and confused to find the biggest challenge was political, and began clashing with Israeli counterparts over some of the restrictions almost immediately, said multiple sources briefed on meetings at the base.

US officers at the CMCC rapidly drew up a list of at least a dozen key humanitarian items they wanted removed from the dual-use list, with tent poles near the top. Weeks later Israel has not lifted restrictions on any of them.

“It is clearly not security interests that are driving decision-making here,” said one western source. “The dual-use list is just another way to control what enters Gaza.”

An early confrontation was over tent poles. Shelter is a critical need as winter sets in because Israeli attacks have destroyed nine out of 10 Palestinian homes, but Israel deems metal tent poles needed for sturdy winter-proof tents “dual use”.

The dual-use list is sweeping in its scope, secret until an item is rejected and has been imposed arbitrarily. Older versions obtained by Gisha through legal action include categories such as “communications equipment” – so broad it could cover most modern electronics.

Items barred on dual-use grounds over the last two years include solar panels, smoke detectors, crutches, wheelchairs and walkers.

Aid groups have collaborated to compile an unofficial list of rejected items in an effort to limit the amount of time and money spent applying to import things that are unlikely to get approval. But it is time consuming.

Some items are banned because Israel has decided they don’t address urgent humanitarian needs.

This category includes paper and pencils to restart schools after two years without education for 600,000 children, and frozen beef and mutton to feed a malnourished population. Aid organisations have been limited to chicken while commercial traders have been able to bring in all kinds of meat.

You are clearly pro Hamas.

Israel is on the brink of extinction.

Terrorists argue this not being true, claiming that Israels population has increased more than tenfold since it`s creation in 1948 from 800.000 to 10 Million people.

But at that time more than 82% of Israelis were Jewish while now it is merely 77%.

Israelis are clearly being wiped out here.

So how dare you demand wheelchairs, crutches, walkers and paper for Gaza.

Israel has the right to defend itself.

With all the kneecaps we destroyed over the years before October 7, those disabled terrorists will use that equipment to attack us. They will fold paper jets and approach our borders with the wheelchairs and throw them at us.

🤣

Seriously, even a person with an IQ slightly over room temperature can clearly see Israel`s true intentions.

And yet, there are still those defending that.

Unbelievable!

I don't think I've ever agreed with Tucker Carlson but he's dead right here.

When will the USA be punished for their actions in Vietnam ?

Those atrocities when woman and children were actually targeted and killed ?

Whole villages wiped out by the USA army .

Address that first Tucker

The My Lai massacre (/miː laɪ/ MEE LY; Vietnamese: Thảm sát Mỹ Lai [t̺ʰâm ʂǎt mǐˀ lāj] ) was a United States war crime committed on 16 March 1968, involving the mass murder of unarmed civilians in Sơn Mỹ village, Quảng Ngãi province, South Vietnam, during the Vietnam War.[2] At least 347 and up to 504 civilians, almost all women, children, and elderly men, were murdered by U.S. Army soldiers from C Company, 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry

The point that you refuse to understand ...

I rephrase.

The point that you perfectly understand but refuse to admit in your hopeless efforts to keep the Israeli victim card valid is that your example is about a horrible atrocity which happened 60 years ago within one day where US soldiers who had tried to find and fight Viet Cong in vain yet suffered 28 casualties involving mines or booby-traps lost it and murdered Hundreds of Vietnamese villagers, which is a horrible war crime and prompted global outrage and contributed to domestic opposition to involvement in the war.

Your IDF on the other hand side is going berserk on innocent women and children, has destroyed a country, murdered a record number of journalists, medics and UN troops, raped and murdered prisoners, shot starving people waiting for food and is intentionally shooting little kids for target practice since more than 2 years and has prompted applause and praise by some groups in Western society who are either so delusional to believe that is self-defense or more likely so dumb to think they can make others, who still have a healthy moral compass and are able to tell good from bad, actually believe it.
