Gottfrid the man that knows everything but really nothing. A legend in his own mind. 🤷🏼

Please explain. Where did I say that I know anything about this? What I have done is to read the news and compare to reality. If you think that makes me a legend, it´s ok, but it will just stand for you.

No it´s not in my head. It´s only you that are unable to remember recent news. Or maybe you are just a selective reader, and don´t have a clue what you are talking about. As an alternative, you are j

Yeah, and right now, it´s what they call the high season. Let´s look at it. They predict a minimum of 3 trillion baht for tourism this year. Once again, a number without thinking. They never learn, an

I must have missed where in the OP they made that prediction. Oh wait, it was only in your head?

Looking at the historical data in 2024 the tourist figures more or less equalled the 2017 figures. 2018 and 2019 figures have yet to be matched. The figures for 2025 more or less match 2016. Am I missing something?

with perhaps millions of Americans seeking ecape from Trump's madness.

I doubt it.

Cheaper and faster for Americans to go to Mexico.

Yes, I can acknowledge that fact, if it was an independent group, person, organization or authority that gave the information. In this case it´s TAT, and here predicting a number, means that they also target that number as they are the authority that stands behind the result.

Nice recovery 😁

What recovery? Wasn´t that the fact and topic discussed here?

Just spent a fre days in BKK the place is quite empty. Nothing like its former self. Speaking to many Taxi drives over the last few days and they all say the same “niup” quite no westerners no tourists.

Not exactly a great daily rate for January, 20% lower than Jan 2019. Just a continuance of the lower 2025 numbers.

In these number you have to factor in that there are cheap trashy tourists staying LONGER - the so called DIGITAL NOMADS - also known as backpackers with laptops.

So overall you have more trashy 'tourists' around, as well as those on holidays.

YES,thank you

and the trash is from all coutrys, from europe, australia to.., and russia and india and china, not worse, or better than the other, so called western tourist.

until covid the quality of people here was better, and before the mass start 2010 more better

I thought I would check the tourist figures for my own country and see how they compare. "In 2024, the UK welcomed 42.6 million international visitors, a 12% increase compared to 2023 and 4% higher than pre-pandemic levels in 2019. The top five inbound markets included the USA, France, the Republic of Ireland, Germany, and Spain."

So figures against pre-covid are up, not by much but are up. So what is Thailand doing wrong to be down on pre-covid figures?

When I first went to Thailand the number of annual visitors was about the same as the current monthly figure. And even then the majority of visitors were from Malaysia. Long distance International visitors were very rare.

3-4 million Chinese aren't coming like they used to, they're afraid of getting funneled through thailand into a scam center.

Aren't the Chinese complicit in running the scam centres?

Yeah, but they also get scammed the most.

I was at MBK Center last week and surrounding malls. Not empty, but they do seem less full.

Poetic justice then.
