Oh Dear, the immigration officers actions seem to be costing the country money. As far as I can see it's real news, not fake. And the country would be better off removing the corrupt immigration offi

First hand accounts of visa exempt entries being warned to get a visa is fairly common I think.

Well they've now suddenly opened their borders which is wreckless. I've witness locals complaining of prices going up, having to move because foreigners have driven up rental prices, etc

However, some protectionism are still in place like work. Although for how long ... who knows.

You will get scenarios like Phillippines if Thailand is not careful, where you have a very wealthy group (namely the property owners, some business) and then a hard up working class. It went really bad in Phillipines lately with many protests, same Bangladesh.

The top 10 percent of thai own 65 percent of everything. I am seeing various numbers but that one seems pretty fair.

Another report on Facebook from the porky law office manager says it's not true it's up to the immigration officer,

If they think you're doing 60 days and extending it to 90 twice in one year and have no visas then they will stop you most of the time as they sumise you are up to no good, and trying to live here without a visa.

Exactly. There's no hard limit. Suspected of living here on visa exempts: no entry; a genuine tourist with multiple entries and exits: no problem.

Well, the 12 wealthiest billionaires in the world own more than the poorest half of the world population (that's 4 billion people)

  2. where the non o multiple?

  3. or do it like UAE ,unlimited entrys without visa , up to 180days per year,on the e gates shows you how many days you can stay more, even without a single stamp

sorry ,but here in thai the eft hand dont know what the right hand doing, and allways and ever change or not change or up to decression of the officers.

They do have a ten year resident visa with unlimited entry - it is called the LTR visa. They also have a ten year OX retirement visa (not sure on re-entry rules on that one.) Both of these visas have different financial requirements.

I find it interesting that the same people on this site that often rail about immigrants and complain about lax immigration rules in their country of origin are the same people that are immigrants living in Thailand and think Thailand should allow them easy residency visas. 🥴🤔

Are you comparing economic migrants who pay people smugglers to enter, say the UK, on a rubber boat, having destroyed all their documents, then claim asylum with Western people retiring in Thailand and spending a significant amount of money in the country without being a drain on the Thai economy by chance?
