In 2025, the Royal Thai Police Anti-Money Laundering Centre seized assets worth ten billion baht, froze 800 bank accounts, and arrested 32 individuals connected to scam networks in Thailand. This major operation targeted mule-account procurement rings, effectively disrupting money-laundering routes in the grey economy. The centre, led by Pol Gen Ittipol Atchariyapradit and Pol Lt Gen Jirabhop Bhuridej, focused on prosecuting money-laundering activities as a critical measure to combat crime.

The operation “Khayee Hua Jai Thotsakan” was pivotal, exposing a large network involving mule accounts and returning THB33 million to victims. Nationwide efforts resulted in 744 criminal money-laundering cases with narcotics, online gambling, and public fraud as leading categories. Furthermore, predicate offences were high across narcotics, property-related cases, and public fraud, highlighting the persistent nature of financial crime.

Pol Gen Ittiphol stressed the need for proactive investigations, urging units to expedite asset tracing and prosecute offenders under anti-money-laundering laws. For 2026, the centre plans to implement projects to enhance law enforcement and officer training in compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering Act. These initiatives aim to strengthen investigative capacities and ensure swift action against financial crimes, reported The Nation.

  • Assets worth THB10bn were seized in 2025, impacting scam networks.
