Mark Carney: Canada Must Shine as Global Beacon Amid Turmoil!

I'm sure that China would love to buy all of Canada's maple syrup to sprinkle over their noodles and their hot pot. It would be a big hit.

Well fortunately they don't have to keep Canada going, as Canada has already found alternative buyers for a lot of their gas and oil, a lot of their very high quality timber, aluminum, steel, rare earth minerals, and so many other commodities that America had easy and cheap access to, due to their proximity.

Before the absolutely moronic nitwit came along and sabotaged all that. Don - Mr. let's play nice with despots and dictators and let's destroy incredibly valuable alliances with our allies.

Mark Carney is a total idiot. Iwatched him make that speech and he still can't get the Canada needa the US more than they need Canada.

  • Excerpt from Doug MacIver on Facebook: Here’s the difference between the two Davos speeches, and it says a lot more than people want to admit. Carney walked into a room full of global elites and did e

Canada is a huge source of oil for the US, in the middle of summer when Texas cranks the AC and California battles wildfires, it's Canadian Hydro dams keeping US cities from going dark, your city is w

Maybe you're right.

Maybe he is driving the country into the ground.

There's too many complex issues going on.

I can't quite figure out what he's doing or why he's doing it.

I surrender.

That's a very good point and I appreciate it coming from you. Many of us can't quite figure out what he's doing, nor who is directing him. I seriously doubt that Trump is making all the decisions and he's very likely being controlled by that "so-called deep state", whatever their intentions are is anyone's guess, but there's no doubt that a tremendous amount of sabotage is going on and it seems to be willful and deliberate.

Some would label the WEF / Davos crowd to be at least part of "the deep state". They don't just meet, they make global policies, according to some.

And Trump just flipped them the finger.

Just watched Glenn Beck's take on the WEF.

He sides with Trump on flipping them the finger.

I recommend it if you have time.

One theory is EU may retaliate to Trump's tariffs and Greenland takeover by dumping trillions of US bonds?

That would hurt them themselves.

But I do know some private pensions institutions have last week sold off, quietly of course, by selling US Bonds.

That opinion piece was (almost) as confused and incoherent as Trump's speech itself.

The bottom line is, why should it be a surprise that captains of industry and world leaders should wish to meet at a forum to discuss the events shaping our world?

I'm kind of hope so, even as a as an American I'd be willing to make some sacrifices to teach this Goomba lessons that he won't forget for a long time.

But there are so many things going on simultaneously, it's impossible to predict which way the wind will blow.

you hate him that much, huh?

yeah but it will trickle down to the average Joe.

Because it's not exactly "a democratic system".

But neither do I believe that true democracy exists anyway.

Rich folks make the rules.

His incredibly destructive policies are already trickling down to the average Joe and if you can't see that then I guess we're incapable of having a reasonable discussion here.

Tens of thousands of small businesses have gone under in the last 12 months due to his incredibly reckless policies.

I agree but the idea that Trump is some sort of revolutionary figure 'flicking the finger' to the establishment/ deep state is imo laughable.

Power and wealth becomes ever more concentrated in a capitalist society as Trump is demonstrating.
