Police in Phuket have arrested a German woman and an Austrian man in connection with a theft at a massage spa on Ranong Road in Phuket City, following an investigation that began after staff reported missing cash. The arrests mark a significant development in a case that initially involved three foreign tourists suspected of stealing from the premises.

The case began on 20 January, when employees of a massage shop visited investigators to file a complaint against foreign nationals accused of theft inside the spa on Ranong Road, Mueang Phuket district. A review of the shop’s CCTV footage showed foreign tourists using the premises, with one individual believed to be German opening a drawer and taking 2,000 baht while the cashier was away from the counter. The shop subsequently reported the incident to police to pursue legal action.

Following the initial investigation, police were able to apprehend one German suspect, while two others remained at large. The inquiry was handled by officers from Phuket City Police Station, who gathered evidence from the scene and worked to identify those involved. The case drew attention to the use of surveillance footage in supporting theft investigations involving foreign visitors.

Acting under the direction of Pol Col Chatree Chukaew, superintendent of Phuket City Police Station, and Lt Col Krapol Liangboonjinda, deputy superintendent of investigations, the operation was led by Pol Capt Kan Aksonthong and the local investigation unit. Officers from Phuket Tourist Police and Phuket Immigration Police also took part.

Authorities arrested an unnamed German woman and an Austrian man under arrest warrants issued by the Phuket Provincial Court on charges of “joint theft”. Both suspects admitted to stealing footwear from the massage and spa shop. They were taken into custody and handed over to investigators at Phuket City Police Station for further legal proceedings.

I wonder if the cops bothered to get finger prints from the draw, that he obviously clearly left, or hasn't that even entered their mind.........coffee1

Good job! They probably have a criminal record back home. Now fine and deport.

These people must really hate being in Thailand.

Why else would they, by their stupidity, almost certainly ensure that they are never going to be allowed back!

Incredible to think these people come on holiday and decide they are going to rob the locals.

Who the F brought you up, and how embarrassing you are to your family and anyone that knows you.

Pathetic, you are a sad sack of s**t

Knew a London girl that would go on holiday and shoplift everything she needed.

This was back in the 1990s, on a trip to the Canary Islands I didn't dare go in a shop with her.

I think it's entirely normal for some folk.

Why? Isn’t the video of their faces enough? Tracing fingerprints could take days when surveillance videos leave a perfect trail, along with passport TM30 for each place they stay

Their intent is obvious, until badly see’s the camera, unlike his dip$hit mate who stole the baht2000 before. They obviously have no qualms about stealing in a foreign country. Plod should treat them with the same contempt they had then give them some jail time and kick their asses out for good.

More stupid for me is, he didn't see the security camera pointing at the till. Some people leave their brains at home when they go on holiday.
