Three Injured in Love Triangle Knife Attack in Thailand

A knife attack outside a condominium in Samut Prakan, Thailand, linked to a love triangle, resulted in three men being injured, with two in critical condition. Police from the Samrong Nuea station received reports of the incident at the entrance of a condominium in Thepharak subdistrict. Emergency responders quickly arrived to provide assistance to the victims.

The victims included 24-year-old Thanwa, who suffered a severe stab wound to the abdomen, and 21-year-old Weerakorn, who was also injured in the abdomen. Both were given first aid before being rushed to a nearby hospital. The alleged attacker, 21-year-old Kittiphop, later surrendered to the police.

According to Weerakorn, the confrontation began when Thanwa attempted to speak with his girlfriend at the condominium, only to find her with a new partner. Thanwa reportedly returned with friends, leading to the violent encounter in her room. Kittiphop, the woman’s new partner, stated he acted in self-defense after three men entered the room unannounced and attacked him.

Kittiphop's account to the police claimed that he had only been seeing the woman for a week. In fear for his life, he used a knife to defend himself before fleeing and eventually surrendering to authorities. Police are gathering statements from all parties involved and reviewing the evidence to determine the correct legal actions.

This incident draws parallels to a similar case in July last year, where a love-affair confrontation between two Myanmar nationals in Karon resulted in both men dying from knife wounds. Police intend to use comprehensive investigations to prevent such violent escalations in the future, reported The Thaiger.
