A 35-year-old man was killed after a pickup truck allegedly chased and rammed his motorcycle in a residential area of Chonburi province, prompting calls from the victim’s family for the police to pursue the case to the fullest extent of the law. The fatal crash occurred shortly after midnight, leaving the motorcyclist dead at the scene and the pickup driver seriously injured. The incident has caused widespread distress among relatives and the local community.

The collision happened at about 00:20 on 25 January 2026 in Soi 12, Ban Kao, Phan Thong district. Dashcam footage captured a pickup truck travelling at high speed before striking a group of motorcycles, with witnesses stating the pickup driver appeared intoxicated. The deceased was identified as Narongdet Somjit, 35, who was riding with a group of five motorcycles at the time.

According to police, witnesses said there had been aggressive driving, including cutting in front of each other and repeated horn use before the crash. The pickup truck was reported to have chased the motorcycles, causing several riders to swerve away, while Narongdet’s motorcycle did not evade in time. The pickup truck was badly damaged in the impact.

Narongdet’s body is being laid to rest at Wat Woraphot Sangkhawas in Bang Nang, Phan Thong district. His mother, Sri-amphon Somjit, 53, said she was devastated by her son’s death and unable to watch the video footage of the incident. She stated that she would not forgive the driver and would not accept any apology, insisting the case proceed without compromise.

Narongdet’s wife, Nattha Khajornmanochot, 34, said viewing the footage was deeply distressing and that the actions went far beyond a minor road dispute. She said the other party had not contacted the family and added that she was not ready to face the driver. She also called on authorities to apply the law strictly, saying offenders must face the consequences of their actions.

Phra Khru Thaworn Sattakhun, abbot of Wat Woraphot Sangkhawas, said the deceased was known as a good person who frequently made merit at the temple. He expressed shock at the sudden loss, noting Narongdet was the main provider for his family, which includes two children.

Amarin reported that Phan Thong police chief Pol Col Chaiyarat Kitchaipat said the pickup driver, identified as Ek, suffered serious injuries including brain bleeding and facial fractures and is being treated at Vibharam Amata City Hospital. Police have not yet laid charges, pending further witness interviews and blood test results to determine whether alcohol was present. Investigators said legal action will follow once the evidence is complete.

What the heck is wrong with some people? Deliberately mowing someone down?

Sounds like a brain bleed and facial fractures were not enough for this moron.
