Many studies have shown drinking a small amount of wine, even daily, is actually good for your body. The Italians for one drink daily, and their lifespans are not less than all others. They are in the Mediterranean Blue Zone. This has been proven in the Blue Zones, where the people live longer on average than anywhere else,It all depends on what and how much you drink. and they drink red wine. ...........https://www.bluezones.com/2017/08/longevity-link-how-and-why-wine-helps-you-live-longer/.

If you exercise and eat well and have good genes, you might get away with moderate daily alcohol. Best to restrict yourself to 1 or 2 drinks on a Friday night to be safe though. Alcohol goes throu

As always Trump's ignorance continues to astound, anything to lessen the health of the American people, anything to avoid providing any sort of ethical or moral guidelines. That's just who he is.

Anyone who drinks every day should take a deep look at their life, and determine whether or not this habit provides them the level of fulfillment that they're looking for. Occasional drinking is fine, getting drunk is not, not for an adult anyway.

How much alcohol is too much to drink?

I can't remember.

Evidence has shown it is bad. My grandfather drank a bottle of whiskey a day and lived to 86. Same with smoking, smokers can live a long life.

Glad I do not indulge in either though.

NO level of alcohol consumption is safe for health…

Key Facts on Alcohol and Cancer Risk:

Cancer Types: Directly linked to cancers of the mouth, throat (pharynx/larynx), esophagus, liver, breast, and colorectum.

Carcinogenic Mechanism: When the body breaks down alcohol (ethanol), it creates acetaldehyde, a chemical that damages DNA and prevents cells from repairing themselves.

Amount Matters: Even light or moderate drinking increases risk, especially for breast cancer.

Systemic Damage: Alcohol can cause chronic inflammation and increase hormone levels (such as estrogen), fueling cancer development.

It all depends if you can handle drink.

Obviously people who turn aggressive after a pint should stay away from alcohol, but for others that mellow, warm feeling that envelopes one fifteen or twenty minutes after a drink can be pleasurable indeed.

Working in Bangkok for many years as a teacher was often enjoyable but the humidity, crammed buses, the pollution, the noisy motorbikes, often meant when getting back to my apartment at dusk, I'd feel frazzled.

A shower, a change of clothes, a visit to my favourite regular restaurant with a cold beer welcoming me, saw my view of the world rapidly improve. I was back in the land of smiles!

There is plenty of information nowadays, see the poster above, saying how no levels of alcohol are safe, but for myself at least, the pleasure, the mild euphoria lasting a couple of hours, has been well worth it, even if it knocks a few years off my life. It's the quality of life that counts, not the length necessarily.

The trick is to know when to stop. Have a beer, maybe two, maybe not, reach that high....then stop!

Don't continue because you've reached the plateau already, it's all downhill from then on, lol.

Moderation is the key.

Do you have excess sugar in your diet?

No. Zero other than what is naturally occurring in foods.

It is more dangerous than alcohol.

Well that certainly depends on the circumstance, doesn’t it.

Are you extremely healthy?

Of course, top notch.

Again, poor health is more dangerous.

Why even bother with such a statement.

Well that’s nice of ya.

Having a drink or two is a pleasant experience on occasion and considering my health is not an issue.

Alcohol is poison, no matter what an individuals perspective is.

Definitely not going to preach to others and those that do usually have their own issues health issues.

Some folks want encouragement and answers due to lack of awareness, others are offended by it.

You're the exception I'm sure but just saying :)

Not an exception, just keeping it real.

I'm not a drinker. A bottle of rum, tequila, or gin can last 3-4 years in my house. I used to drink heavily when I was an older teenager... blind drunk every Friday and Saturday nights when I was 18 (legal in NY at that time). I stopped in my 20's and never looked back. My wife will take a small drink late at night if she can't fall asleep.

I really can't understand, with the panic we see here in AN every time there is a Buddhist holiday (or elections), and people can't get their fix, yet don't believe that they have a problem. Such is the nature of addiction, so strong that we will even see people here disagreeing with the idea that they have a problem.
