Problem with Whatsapp upgrade

This is actually a computer problem but I will ask here. When at home I tend to access Whatsapp on the laptop rather than the mobile phone. Previously not an issue. The laptop had been linked so I just opened Whatsapp and it remained open until the laptop was shut down. This week I had to install and upgrade to Whatsapp and re-link the lap top and mobile Whatsapp systems.

The trouble is Whatsapp on the laptop keeps closing down on the laptop so I have to keep re-opening it. Or just use it on the mobile. But since I use Line on the laptop also it is a pain not being able have Line and Whatsapp open.

Anybody come across this and found a solution to keeping Whatsapp open in the background?
