There is currently a large fire in Fisherman's Village and emergency services are on site working hard to contain it.

We kindly ask everyone to avoid travelling to the area for the next couple of hours unless absolutely necessary, to allow fire crews and emergency teams full access.

Fisherman's Village is a small, close-knit community made up of homes and independent, family-run businesses. Please be considerate when planning travel today, traffic will be limited and access for cars and bikes is currently restricted.

We'll share updates as soon as well have them. Thank you for your understanding and support for our village and the people, homes and businesses impacted by the fire.»

«Firstly, thank you to everyone who reached out with messages of support. We’re incredibly relieved to confirm that no one was injured. The area was evacuated quickly, and the fire crews worked tirelessly and efficiently to bring the blaze under control.

Sadly, several homes and businesses have been severely affected. Many of you will have seen the footage. Gino’s Tailors, Saona Clothing & Armani Tailors have suffered significant damage, along with neighbouring properties. What isn’t visible from the road is the impact on the homes behind the shops, where many owners and staff live with their families.

For now, Fisherman’s Village is operating as usual, with the affected section safely cordoned off. If you are visiting, please be mindful and respectful of the area.»
