Documents for Non-O(marriage), Vientiane

Featured Replies

Hello.
I’m going to Vientiane soon to apply for a visa and would like to clarify a few details.

1. In the old days, I had to copy and sign documents and submit them to the consulate in person. Now all that's a thing of the past, and I just need to scan or photograph the original documents before submitting them online (no additional signatures to certify them), am I correct?

2. Does the consulate still accept bank statements exported as PDFs directly from the banking app? There’s no need to photograph the bank book (updated on the same day) or request an official paper statement from the bank and photograph that instead — is that correct?

3. When I tried to create an online application, I noticed that a copy of the tabien baan is no longer required. Ko Ro 2 also doesn’t seem to be required anymore. Is the marriage certificate (the pretty piece of paper with flowers and names) sufficient instead?

4. As I understand it, a QR code must be printed in order to enter the Thai consulate. Is it possible to show the QR code on my phone instead? If a printed copy is required, is there a shop near the consulate where I can print it?

You need to print it, based on other reports. And yes, you'll find plenty of places that will do it nearby.
