Ex PM Gordon Brown Demands Probe Into Andrew RAF base Epstein Links

Former prime minister Gordon Brown has urged police to investigate whether Prince Andrew used taxpayer-funded jets and RAF bases to meet convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, according to reports.

The Sunday Telegraph says Brown has written to six police forces calling for civil servants to be questioned over Andrew’s decade as UK trade envoy from 2001 to 2011 — a period that included nearly three years of Brown’s premiership.

Brown confirmed to the BBC that he had submitted a five-page memorandum to multiple forces, including the Metropolitan Police and Thames Valley Police, urging them to secure justice for trafficked girls and women. He is also said to be demanding a wider investigation into the trade envoy role itself, including its cost to taxpayers and whether any official work overlapped with Epstein’s activities.

Particular concern surrounds a December 2000 flight by Epstein’s Gulfstream jet that landed at RAF Marham in Norfolk, roughly 20 miles from Sandringham. The Ministry of Defence has previously said RAF airfields can be used by private aircraft where spare capacity exists and fees are paid, provided there is no operational or security impact.

Emails released in US court files show a 2011 exchange in which a journalist asked whether Andrew had secured permission for Epstein to use military bases. The query was forwarded to Epstein by Ghislaine Maxwell, who was later convicted in the US for sex trafficking offences. Epstein replied: “just spoke to Larry… it’s true,” apparently referring to his chief pilot.

Andrew, who was recently arrested and released under investigation on suspicion of misconduct in public office, has denied wrongdoing over his links to Epstein. Searches continue at Royal Lodge as police review material connected to the case.

Key Takeaways

  • Brown escalates pressure: The former PM has formally urged multiple forces to probe Andrew’s use of RAF facilities and taxpayer-funded resources.

  • RAF flight under scrutiny: A 2000 landing at RAF Marham is central to questions about access and approval.

  • Investigation widens: Police are reviewing fresh material from US file releases as Andrew remains under investigation.

And all other parties keep quiet I assume. When will the first pedo go to prison?
