March 3Mar 3 They need to adopt a congestion zone or operate more pedestraian free zones. I was sittiing in Soi Bukhao the other week, open air bar, and the sheer amount of traffic infront of me, the pollution, vehicles, noise from bikes, then compound it off having to walk in that meant a disgusting experience. Never again

A nice safe flight! I'm sure there are lots of good deals on tickets available.

March 4Mar 4 Pattaya is flooded with Indians -completely taken over for all practical purposes. The beaches suck. It's a hell hole. Why would anyone want to there?

I kept expecting to see/pass some major road works. But it was all just from cars turning into the Central parking. What's wrong with the malls in Bangkok? And what happened to Bang San Beach for Thais on weekends ? Just going to let the Thais and their cars have it on weekends. Unlike them I have better things to do .no bus to bang san so a definitel no to a lot of thais

Maybe its decline has been grossly exaggerated.I think that is a yes and no.Appears to me that Pattaya is being visited a lot more by Thais than it used to be. I was there over NY and it was absolutely mobbed that night, following morning there was severe congestion going back up to the main road.Tourists don't contribute to traffic congestion in the same way.

Never againI avoid Buakhao like the plague. Making it one way can't come soon enough. It will still be a mess but that should improve things somewhat.

Better get used to walking.Amen to that. But I like to walk....Been here 20+ years, passed soooo many condo projects with big sign "EIA Approved!"... Just what part of the 'environmental impact' is 'assessed'? Methinks traffic impact is never included, as even important things like water/sewage are glossed over. This Savannah can only support so many termite mounds.

March 5Mar 5 All the traffic won't be helping the NO2 levels (top image). The overall Air Quality Index is poor, too (bottom image).
