oversized Ego ? sense of entitlement and superiority ?

Complete idiots in charge at the top. Simple as that. I'm sure Trump got solid advice from the chief of staff and other professionals. Unfortunately, he's an utter moron and (of course) didn't listen.

It's a bit ironic that an Islamic Republic which holds marriage to a 9-year-old sacred sets out to vaccinate the world against a teenlover, but that's what we get for erasing any such distinctions.

then there is "opinion", forcefully and at length. It's not disguised as neutral journalism; it's explicit anti-war/anti-U.S.-empire commentary from a prominent critic. This is almost entirely opinion

Because I like to speak the truth.

"The attackers [Jan6] were not hiding their identities. Many livestreamed the breach, waved flags bearing Trump’s name, and posed for photos inside congressional offices. Their goal was not covert revolution, it was spectacle. It was to show the world, and each other, that they were willing to fight for their version of dark America which was fueled by hate.

That version of the United States is hierarchical, exclusionary, and nostalgic. MAGA rhetoric often invokes a mythologized past that existed before immigration, feminism, or racial reckoning changed the social landscape. In this false narrative, Trump is less a man than a time machine: a portal back to a country where White, Christian, heterosexual men held uncontested authority."

change to: How could USA-Trump have so vastly underOVERestimated Iran's military?

…..only now entering the 3rd week

  • IRGC leadership all dead

  • IRGC Navy finished

  • IRGC air defense non existent

  • IRGC drones and missile strikes down >85% over the past 2 weeks

  • IRGC drone and missile stockpiles and launchers massively hit and depleted

  • IRGC regime operators massively hit

  • IRGC defense budget not able to rebuild what has been destroyed for the next couple years

  • IRGC lost kharg island

  • IRGC trying their absolute hardest to stop hormuz for a few days

  • IRGCs only strategic objective in this war is to literally "SURVIVE"

How could USA-Trump have so vastly underestimated Iran's military?

Only listening to the information you want to hear, and only being fed the information you want to hear by sycophantic advisors is a common trait amongst authoritarian leaders.

You must be kidding. Next you'll say Iran is winning.

No, but nearly three weeks in Iran is still standing, battered, having lost much military material, many political leaders and many civilian lives. Attacks continue, yet Iran remains capable of returning fire, and the primary international repercussions, the closing of the Straits of Hormuz, are enforced by Iran.

It is clear that Trump underestimated Iran's military and political resilience.

The OP asked a question, I offered an answer based on considerable historical precedence. I do apologise if you don't like the answer.

Both sides are winning, but they are fighting different wars.

3 wks into what was originally said to be a 4-6 wk military action. Yes, Iran are still shooting off missiles and drones but their capacity to do so has been severely depleted and the top brass decimated. As for the strait a heavy bombing campaign is currently underway there and the MEU is due there in a couple of wks. What has been happening is a systematic destruction of Iran's military offensive capability (much of it's defensive capability being destroyed in the 12 day war) and it's leadership. There are two keys left IMO. Naturally the Straight of Hormuz and the IRGC. By all accounts cracks are starting to show in the latter.

I do unlike those who only get their news from MSM and left bias platforms. Everything I posted is confirmed except for my last two sentences which as I pointed out is opinion.

How is everything you have posted confirmed?

What are YOUR sources of news and reliable information?

When you surround yourself with sycophants, and when the top brass and your allies can see you can be easily manipulated you can be lead into stupid directions.

No doubt playing god with so much power is very dangerous, and most likely buoyed by the 'success' in Venezuala.

Same <deleted> happened to Blair - you start to love the power a bit too much. Great success in Yugoslavia meant he pushed into Iraq as well.
