Do you use the ignore function on AN? For sure I do. There are some serial posters here, about ten or so, that have made the list, including the site’s biggest troll who seems to be taking a short holiday while he/she flops around the most boring provinces in Thailand looking for 300 Baht air conditioned rooms and 49 Baht meals. But I would also classify the other ones on my ignore list as malignant posters that rarely have anything new to add to the discussion. So predictable. Nearly every post is about themselves, how they live, what they did today or yesterday, how others should live, and is usually followed by long explanations about how things really are here, there, and everywhere. It comes across more as armchair piss-moaning than discussion.

If you go into any popular topic in the pub or even here in the lounge, you will see the same names dominating the threads. There is a new topic in the pub running right now with quite a few pages. When I open it, based on my ignore list, there are barely any posts visible.

It makes me wonder how much actual participation there is beyond this small group of malignant drivelers. Without them, there seems to be very little engagement from other regular members.

And you can rely on the same group to show up if the topic touches on certain touchy subjects. Anything about women, ladyboys, masculinity, gender roles, society going downhill, or a good rant about "Why the West sucks a bag of dicks" will bring them all barreling in and then the walls of text start blinding you.

I like reading the postings by most of the drivelers. Their postings are mostly humour, I enjoy the laugh, unlike the politics and world's problems.

I regularly interact with the Pub members, I mostly put a twist on the story, it's good fun. 😊
