Be honest, was it the traditional values that drew you to a Thai woman

Friendship is the basis of a good marriage.

When men understand that friendship is the key to a lasting relationship, fewer of them will end up feeling devastated and broken when things fall apart. A lot of that pain comes from expectations and unspoken promises that were never meant to be there in the first place, often because the intentions were wrong from the start

Young, slim, beautiful, likes sex, speaks little English so few arguments. What else is there to ask for?

Every married man I knew the UK was divorced and asset stripped, or deeply unhappy.

I've noticed a trend of people getting divorced in their 50s. This timing is problematic, as they are losing half their assets while approaching retirement.

Couldn't be that they are one and the same? I've always thought he was a bit schizo/DID under his many previous incarnations.

but in the end the woman will always take as much as she can, while contributing nothing.

That happens to people they don't like. It hasn't occurred to me nor any of my friends. I guess because we must have some redeeming features.

From reading the comments made by some of the men here, it's patently clear why they went to Thailand to find easy women in bars.

Severely lack in decorum and social skills, holding abhorrent ideas about women.

I've noticed in the west there are no couples that thrive.

You don't see them because they do not exist in a toxic environment. They are simply not part of your world.

Your wife attacked me unprovoked.

I didn't interact with her, out of the blue she decided to stick her nose in to a comment I made to the OP.

Now she's got you annoying the hell out of me, then you have the nerve to say I'm a psycho.

Get help mate.

Are you okay?

Did you write that? 😊

The written English is surprisingly good with the sentiment communicated clearly. You had some help didn't you? Tell the truth 😊

To be honest, it was the best sex I ever had……..30 years later, it still is.😃🤗

Beautifully written , I must say , but that "mills and boone" type romantic rubbish is hardly applicable to any Thai wife / western husband scenario that I have ever encountered or even heard of .

I don't think she was necessarily referring to any 'Thai wife / western husband scenario'. She was giving you the perspective of a woman.

If you had the capability, you would be able to appreciate a woman like that and to experience a relationship as described. But you are not. So you invented a scenario where you pay for everything and the woman should respect you as a real man...

It's not working out in reality, is it?

The ones who have lasting, loving relationships are the ones who perhaps have connected with their partners on a deeper level than you appear to believe possible.

Every married man I met in Thailand had been divorced and asset stripped.

Obviously there were a few INCELs that never had a woman.

And one that was fortunate enough for his wife to die at a young age.

Maybe it's different in Norway, but don't you all go mad in the winter, kill your wives and kids, then commit suicide?

Maybe the issue was that they got married and thereby ruined their relationship. A legal contract as opposed to a naturally good relationship.

None of my friends have been asset stripped, to my knowledge.

Whilst I am sure there must be a few, "highly successful, career focussed, professional Thai women with western husbands, standing obedient and submissive by their sides, whilst fulfilling their "intellectual needs and desires" I would bet they could be counted on one hand,

There are however thousands upon thousands of poorly educated Thai women from debt ridden families that have married and are supported by foreign husbands The husbands are often, at best, only averagely wealthy by western standards, so like anywhere else in the world life is for most of these women, a constant struggle of trying to get their hands on as much of his cash as possible

"Intellectual needs and desires" etc etc are, unsurprisingly , not considered high priority in most people's houses. and as for interesting and stimulating conversation ? well that's not something they even aspire too

Further more if you knew anything about the dynamic in most Thai / western relationships you would not be suggesting that Thai women are in anyway subservient , obedient , or constantly overruled and bullied by their husbands, the opposite is generally true, Thai civil law gives them the upperhand ,legally , and their extended family can easily keep the husband in order at the domestic level

Perhaps I just got lucky. I married middle class and we have enough for a full life, our own pursuits and work.

That's all your imagination. Enjoy 😊

P.S. When would be the time and place, for you? It depends on your mood, doesn't it? One day you will understand that all of your 'problems' and protestations come from within yourself. Time to grow up. Learn to control yourself, instead of blaming others for your reactions and poor behaviour.

I'm happy and in good mood. How about yourself?

When you were posting as NowNow (2 years back) you didn't have a woman/wife

There is no issue in my opinion with preferring Asian woman to Western women for partners. Of course it's a big generalisation but I get it - I do too.

Nothing wrong in my opinion with going a step further and saying aspects of women in general may have changed overall in the west in a way that further made me prefer Asian women as partners.

Point is I get why western women and some Asian women changed and why they prefer to be more independent. Because they can. I get why western women and asian women may find many western men unappealing as a partner - including me at times and many on this site.

My issue with some on this site though is that they take the argument into boorish and childish territory saying women should be and do this and that - I think they should accept the world changed, enjoy what they enjoy, and - unless they directly are hurt by them - respect others who they may not find appealing or who may not find them appealing.

Very well said. There is nothing wrong with saying that you are attracted to Thai women; they are beautiful and have been raised in a beautiful culture. It is also perfectly fine to have a division of labor in a relationship that works for both partners. For example I am better at cleaning than my partner, but he is usually makes dinner and enjoys cooking more than I do. However, this is not determined based on gender. Have times changed since the 1920's in terms of what many cultures think about gender roles - Yes. In reality, this change has been liberating for both men and women. Women are no longer limited in the roles or occupations they wish to pursue. They can doctors, engineers, mechanics, plumbers or stay at home mom's. Women can compete in sports like weight lifting, boxing and wrestling. Men today can feel more comfortable being loving fathers, showing emotion in relationships, choosing careers or activities that were at one time labeled feminine. I see this as a positive change. Why would you want to live in a world that limits your experiences or choices based on gender alone?

Even more sad when young guys need to do it.

More 'can't afford' than anything else.

Back in the UK they demand your house and pension (and in some cases your title) for sex you had with them 20 years back.

Indeed @BritManToo said it for you. You cannot afford them and you know they see you clearly for what you are. Once you've sunk to certain lows, it's not easy to get yourself back on track. Easier to slide downhill than to ascend a mountain. Plus, you can more easily fool yourself into thinking that you are a big fish in Thailand.

If thinking that helps you to feel better about your life choices, do what you need to do.
