Lacub police officers recently assisted in the emergency transport of a 72-year-old man experiencing breathing difficulties to the Rural Health Unit. In collaboration with local authorities, officers navigated a rugged path to reach the patient in Sitio Dugay. The swift action ensured the man received the necessary medical attention promptly.

The response was coordinated by Police Executive Master Sgt. Marvin Vergara, with support from Mayor Estelita Bersamin and local officials, after family members and community leader Rheinhard Eduarte reported the emergency. The remote location, approximately two kilometers from the nearest road, necessitated an improvised "buligan" for safe transport.

Police Patrolman Burnham Piliyen and the team ensured the patient’s safe arrival at the health unit, where he received immediate care. The incident highlights the police's commitment to community welfare and the challenges faced in remote areas regarding emergency medical access.

Further plans involve improving infrastructure and resources to better handle emergencies in remote regions. Authorities aim to enhance collaboration between local government units and emergency services, reported Manila Bulletin.
