Thailand and Laos to develop tourism on highway 9

Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Tourism and Sports Pirom Simasathien (ภิรมย์ สิมะเสถียร) leads Thai representatives to attend a meeting with representatives from Savannakhet (สะหวันนะเขต) of Laos in a bid to develop tourism industry on highway 9, East West Economic Corridor.

Mr. Pirom says that Thailand has signed a cooperation agreement with Laos in tourism development after the opening of the 2nd Thailand-Laos Friendship Bridge at Mukdaharn (มุกดาหาร) of Thailand and Savannakhet of Laos. The two countries will push for a joint investment to developing facilities, hotels, restaurants, and tourist attraction places on the East-West Economic Corridor.

Mr. Pirom says that the development will lead to more tours traveling by vehicles.
