Is it time to start "prepping" ?

The world needs needs 100 million barrels a day pre war. 20 million barrels go through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran is still shipping 2 million barrels and Saudi Arabia has diverted 5 million to it's pipelines as well as other countries sending oil through alternative channels. They estimate we are are down 9 million barrels which is shrinking each week. Not a big deal given a few months to adjust but a little bit of a hassle now.

Almost reminds me of the US response to COVID. Why TP?

Good thing is that the guardians of the Strait are letting tankers bound for China and, so far as I've seen, Thailand, to pass through without problems.

As I said in my post, " I am not a worrier," I remember the year 2000 panic, when a lot of my friends " were in a lather" filled their spare bedrooms with food and water, took their money out of the bank, and buried it in the backyard. There is nothing wrong with being prepared, but there are limits and the fact that there is always something you didn't prepare for, like a small nuke, or the starving masses wanting what you have.

what panic in 2000??

... and your freezer ;)

I think they use only about 100 watts, normally.

I could rig up some sort of squirrel cage, and a generator, ...maybe.

All three refrigerators/freezers use very efficient inverter tech.
