The lower-caste Indians often lack proper manners and tend to be unkempt. The upper castes are the opposite but can be arrogant.

I never see Thais or Farang hating Indians.

But Cowboys are another matter.

Of all their endearing behaviors, this one puzzles me the most. If walking 5 abreast in the road is their default modus operandi, imagine an entire country where everyone does this. One must conclude that India has no cars. But ChatGPT reassures me that, indeed, India has cars. So its a paradox.

One of the most peculiar aspects of contemporary Indian society is that public displays of affection are not allowed between men and women, therefore men end up being very affectionate with their male counterparts. It has nothing to do with homosexuality, it's just the human desire to express affection that is oppressed.

When I lived in work their ages ago it took me a while to get used to seeing men with their arms around each other in a movie theater, that was a strange one.

I have had no personal interaction with an Indian in Thailand.

What I have noticed around Asoke is Indian family groups walking down the pavement. The half-dozen men will be out in front chatting away together and laughing uproariously. Obviously having a great time. Behind them come the half-dozen wives & mothers with the kids. The women are silent, looking sour & miserable.

Isn't India considered one of the most reviled countries in the world? Even if you never knew an Indian wouldn't you be a little worried about large groups of these people invading your spaces? Where else can you see pictures like that? Maybe Africa but that's about it. Something is seriously wrong with these people is the least we can say for certain.

Again I'll quote Jayant Bhandari: "Indians live like cockroaches and die like cockroaches".

But… isn’t it fascinating how they absolutely flourish in the USA — almost like it’s the ideal habitat perfectly tailored for this kind of brilliance? What a coincidence.

Just a few examples... (I guess 100's more)

  • Sundar Pichai: CEO of Alphabet Inc. and Google.

  • Satya Nadella: Chairman and CEO of Microsoft.

  • Shantanu Narayen: Chair, President, and CEO of Adobe.

  • Arvind Krishna: Chairman and CEO of IBM.

  • Neal Mohan: CEO of YouTube.

  • Nikesh Arora: CEO and Chairman of Palo Alto Networks.

  • Jayshree Ullal: President and CEO of Arista Networks.

  • Sanjay Mehrotra: President and CEO of Micron Technology.

  • George Kurian: CEO of NetApp.

  • Ravi Kumar S: CEO of Cognizant.

Blame your creator. A lot of this is the way your brain is designed and operates. The psychology that follows along with it.

The most major flaw is our brains necessity to simplify things, and try to form one single answer to something.

Then using hate instead of dislike. It's not going to change until the sidewalks are clear and wide enough. It seems to be accepted in parts of India. The traffic is going slow enough and tolerates the behavior.

I would say most Thais and some expats. Thai wife and friends want little to do with Indian people. Not sure why but my impression is that that they are felt to be ungenerous and devious.

brilliance? they thrive on the back of Americans and presumably these corporations are going to get gutted over time. I'm curious who let them rise to those levels. If these people were functional then India wouldn't look like it is today. I guess now Americans are going to learn how it all goes down.

Would have thought most Thai business people don't care where the money comes from Indians western tourists ect

As long as they are spending money 🤑

Asean Now is living up to its reputation as a gathering place for bigoted old "european" white males.

The Indians who are offensive are no worse, and no better than the westerners who offend. It's ridiculous that so many people who live pension payment to pension payment and who themselves work themselves up into a lather when airport arrival fees increase, criticize the Indians for being cheap". They ask for a discount because they know how the Thais price things. They challenge the double pricing unlike the westerners who would rather complain here. If you don't like the Indians you meet, find a different place to congregate. The Indians I encounter in Hua Hin are well off, and keep to themselves. Not a problem.

Brilliance? Undoubtably!

These type of guys don't creep through the back door, do they? They were appointed there by Americans, who couldn't find anyone better - there are Indians politicians too, in the US isn't it? Its not too far away for an Indian to become the POTUS... at the rate things have been going onthere for the last decade or so.

Emm, have you been to India? Slow traffic? Didi you ever try to cross big roads in Delhi? Not in the market area like Pahar Ganj.

There is zero tolarance when it comes to traffic. The bigger the vehicle is, the more right it has.

"Use Horn Please" is written on many of the trucks and buses. And some of them use it excessive while driving like a maniac.

I don’t think they have improved, recently there are a lot less Indians in Pattaya so there is less sidewalk and road blockage. Numbers are way down is my impression and thank god for that.

Are you an Indian or just an Indian boot licker? Boggles the mind why anyone would suck up India of all the countries in the world.

Isn't India a million times better than the USA today?

Pakistan is negotiating peace, now.

Deboggle your mind and accept reality.

No need to lick anything - those are hard facts!

Personally I don’t hate Indians, but prefer many other nationalities.

Some observations on Indians:

Our regular Massage shop girls told us they don’t like massaging them as primarily many of them smell and also often want a discount. I have noticed a body odour problem on several occasions while riding a baht bus.

They also seem overrepresented when it comes to riding baht buses with unsuitably large amounts of luggage.

I have seen one riding on the back of a taxi motorbike with a suitcase in his right hand and other bags on his left hand.

Another friend who runs a bar said he threw four out of his bar when they asked for one drink and four glasses.

100% with the body odour issue, I think most here would agree thais (particularly women) are very big on personal hygiene (especially BO). Also non confrontational, particularly in public situations....Indians not so much 😉

"Most expats and some Thais" ???

I rather think it's "most Thais and some expats" that hate Indians.

Doesn't seem to be a problem with the English.

Nearly all the Indians in Pattaya seem to be young males,

How do we know they are not Sri Lankans or Bangladeshi.

or even Pakistani?

I was working in Bangkok about 35 years ago, and a Thai colleague told me this Thai saying: If you see a snake and an Indian, hit the Indian first.

As Indians were a rarity where we were, I had no idea why he told me that, but I have encountered many people over the years who have strong prejudiced against people they hardly know.
