Go visit the one at The Chilled shopping Mall - Soi Khao Noi.

Then get back to me on your foul language remark.

I have always wondered this ! That supermarket up near the bus station is double the prices of Aldi in Australia

As I’ve posted previously on this forum, I feel I must defend the little Foodmart at the Jomtien bus station. For such a small place, it has a remarkably wide range of foods, including imported stuff

Are you sure there ever was a foodland? I know there was a large sign, but I don't think there was a shop

The topic is supermarkets in Chom Tien, you veritable genius 😊

But I don't mind going off-topic in order to discuss restaurants.

If you like, Phra Tamnak, just like Naklua and Na Jomtien are completely different locales. Each has their own character. What is fine dining to you, may not be the same thing to someone else. So I've asked you to define what fine dining is to you?

Have you eaten at any of the restaurants that I mentioned? Which ones and when?

Please understand that if someone is representing themselves as knowing of the finer things in life, they should at least be able to spell fine dining correctly.

Oh...I should let you know, that I do not live in Jomtien. I guess that makes you a fool for assuming, doesn't it?

Ok, you asked for it;
Fine dining is a high-end, full service restaurant experience offering food and wines of high quality, utilizing premium ingredients and specialized cooking techniques to create gourmet and artistic presentations at a price that is representitive of the food quality and the ambience experienced. Staff are highly trained and offer a professional and attentive service without being obtrusive. Examples; The View, Gooseberry Bistro, Peaky Blinders, Casa Pascal, Cafe Des Amis, The Lunar Beach House, Yítong Chinese Restaurant, Jasmins, Pippa Restaurant, The moment, etc.

As for the restaurants that I have tried in Jomtien: - Frankies 7/10, Natan's 5/10, Da Nicola Pizza 5/10, Anya 7/10, Sugo 6/10, 30175 Bistro 8/10 (probably the best of them all).
As for the slip-of-the-finger speling mesteak, nobody's perfect, but as I said before it does show your petty-mindedness!!
I assumed you lived in Jomtien as your posts implied as such with you so fervently arguing in its defence, so no it doesn't make me a fool. However you now admitting that you don't live in Jomtien actually makes you look the fool and begs the question as to are you just trolling?

Do you live in Chom Tien? If not, they why are you allowed to comment and not I? If by your criteria I am a Troll, then does it not follow that you are also a Troll?

Some might argue that the following post is the perfect example of petty-mindedness:

The truth of the matter is that Jomtien is the poorman's Pattaya and populated by pensioners and the less well-off expats who will always choose cost over quality.

Are you suggesting that all of the restaurants that you have mentioned in places outside the Chom Tien area score higher than the 8/10, the score you have accorded to a restaurant in Chom Tien? If not, then what is your point? That people should pay more for overpriced food? Would that help you to feel better about yourself?

You must know that you are making yourself look a complete idiot.

Purely a linguistic question, but why on Earth are you writing the transliteration of จอมเทียน as 'Chom Tien'?

Just interested...

No I do not live in Jomtien, but fairly close, but then again my posts never implied that I did where as yours on the other hand did!
All of the restaurants I mentioned outside of Jomtien set the benchmark, therefore their score is 10/10 purely for comparative reasons, does that make things clear for you?
30175 Bistro gets a score of 8/10 because it's the exception to the rest of them, it doesn't pretend to be what it's not, it serves decent tapas style food and at a reasonable price, and occasionally has live but subtle entertainment, but it is not what one would call a high-end or fine dining restaurant.
It's now quite obvious that you are now arguing for arguments sake and cannot provide any factual and definitive responses in defence of your arguement. The reason for this, in my opinion, is that you have never actually experienced dining at these Jomtien restaurants, otherwise I'm sure you would enlightened us as to how spectacular they are.
And once again you close your comment with what your menial mentality perceives as a derogatory comment that you think will impress other readers. Really is pathetic.

You really do need to get some psychiatric help, it seems your obsession with posting derogatory comments is taking over your life. Quite sad really.

yeah, bragging about spending an inordinate amount of time in expensive restaurants.

if every meal is more expensive than you would spend back home, doesn't make much financial sense to eat like that all the time.

Jeez, another one thats running on half empty duracell's.

You posts are becoming increasingly infantile. Show me where I implied that.

Yes, it makes it clear that you are an idiot.

Chom Tien has decent restaurants and comes it's own charms, as I mentioned earlier. Open air beachfront dining. Anya, Sense of the sea and many more.

What does that have to do with poor people and pensioners? You are just pathetic.

It seems that you've been told. I guess you didn't ever visit the Post Office there.

They apparently changed their mind and decided to look for a location in Jomtien instead. I think that big plot of land the city recently cleared on Thappraya near Theprassit would be ideal. Some are speculating that may be part of the reason it was cleared, but nothing has been announced so that's just pure speculation right now.

Derogatory posts... such as these?

Take a walk down any of the beer bar soi's off beach road and you will see they're all dirty, neglected and decaying with very few bar patrons. This is also the reason why there is not one decent high end restaurant.

The fact is that you are talking out of your posterior. There is something for everyone. If you are happy to pay high prices for nothing, don't allow me to stop you. Personally I prefer high quality and good value for money, rather than paying double for someone to pretend to respect me.

It's the overall experience that creates the memories. I can knock up anything your 'high end' restaurants can provide and have much nicer surroundings than most. Why do I need a 'high end' restaurant to relieve me of my cash and dignity? 😊

I can go to Cabbages & Condoms for a beautiful setting and relatively normal pricing. Anya looks a nice setting too, for those who don't ordinarily live beachfront.

Since you mentioned restaurants in Central Pattaya, are you suggesting that area is somehow 'high end' and a desirable place to be?

No need for something overpriced simply for the sake of it. Different areas have their own charms. But you continue impressing yourself. Don't allow us to stop you. Enjoy.

I see there is hostility to the fact that as f-rangs we don't always get the local price at local markets. That's for unmarked items. If the price is posted, it will be fine. Y'all are free to test this yourself.

I am quite surprised some people even question the possibility! I have found it to be SOP here! (Standard operating procedure) Also why I get the Mrs to shop mostly.
