I saw that on the Web, so many foreigners complaining.

Happy Songkran to all the lovely Thai people ♥️

I bought my girlfriend a special skimpy outfit to play in, I'd post a photo of her in her outfit but I'm fed up with all the hostile comments. 💪

And to all those foreigners moaning, commiserations 😂

I thought there was a water shortage in Pattaya?

So what date does the Songkran festivities actually start in Pattaya? How long does it last?

How long have you been in Thailand? Or is your Google broken?

Great festival. Sure beats Xmas and easter! Lets hope all the sad old farangs get hit with ice water. People who hate Songkran hate life.

You think it beats the two Christian festivals because, believe it or not, Songkran is the BUDDHIST New Year.

Take away the above group and Songkran would be enjoyable. The type that gets their rocks off hurting others and they can do it without consequence.

And in the mornings?

Golf, cycling, coffee shop, chilling, massage etc

Check out this stupid reference to Songkran behaviour, dress modestly.

That's the best thing about Songkran, chicks, all wet and wearing next to nothing.

She's hardly dressed modestly. Cut off jean shorts and basically a bra.

Anyone who can travel around from dawn to dusk in the back of a pickup throwing water at people has to have a very low boredom threshold.

A few bottles of jack daniels keeps the boredom away!

Thanks for your very helpful answer. I've lived in Buriram for 17 years thanks.

I don't want google's opinions, I wanted some first hand opinions from people who actually live in Pattaya (the clue is that I posted in the Pattaya forum) and not some arse-wipe's opinion who lives somewhere else. NB I don't use the thumbs down emoji, so obviously other posters didn't like your smart-arse reply. You need to grow up. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

What a silly post. Xmas and Easter are CHRISTIAN Festivals which, unfortunately, Thais and many other countries have hi-jacked and spend accordingly.

Do they celebrate Songkran in UK, USA or any other countries?

Certainly celebrated in Myanmar and Cambodia.

Thais celebrate Songkran in Australia. The wife is dragging me to the temple for it. Not my idea of fun, watching people suck up to a monk, much prefer the water blasters.

My guess is Thai expatriates celebrate it in other western countries too.

With the question when does it start and how long does it last from someone who has been in Thailand for so long................does it change from year to year.

And enough of you insults please.

Of course your Thai wife celebrates it wherever you are, and I know many Thais in UK who do also. But not many Brits join in, why would they.

I have no idea, ask them, not me.

You said that no other country celebrates Songkran as a blanket statement.

You are wrong.

What is this saying which should not apply to the whole of the year.

No riding on the roof of a car...........they are in the back of an effing pick-up.

No booze to under 20s......always has been

Yes your Honour, I was wrong. Put me in the middle of Beach Road next Monday wearing only my Speedos and a snorkel. 555

Happy Songkran y'all

I doubt it. Too many grumpy men here but I think Songkran has become a hassle for most of us. Once the ice water was introduced years ago it became exponentially more dangerous and unpleasant. Take away the ice and the the few idiot psychopaths (99% farangs ) and it could be fun.

Your reply that he is responding to was totally insulting,

Ok for you but not for him?

Songkran is celebrated the same days, April 13-15, every year.

and increasingly powerful water guns

because adults do not know how to play, so it has to become an intense competition

it's not fun and games unless someone loses an eye

What are you meeping about, this is banned since years already. Except maybe in the ghetto called Pattaya. Happy I am living down south on the islands, we just do 1 day water fun here, 2 at most. Limited water supply can be heaven lol (somehow nobody gets that there is a lot of ocean water to use).

But a photo would be convincing.

If you support the concept of farang buying skimpy outfits and gf wears it in public because she does as she's told by controling farang bf.

Not everybody's idea of a relationship.

By the way what does the gf wear inside the house?
