I have been saying for decades that the problem with the Thailand retirement visa program is a complete lack of residency security.

Someone here 30 years has no more status than a new guy fresh off the plane.

To me, that doesn't seem morally right.

Yet, aware of all that, I stay, and so do countiess others who may or may not be as aware of this ticking time bomb.

Generally I agree with the message. I am married retired and a "temporary alien" and every year looking to meet the ever floating requirements for extension. At least I have my money together and would not end in miserable Europe.

As far as the OP, it's quite true, anything can happen anytime, and even though a foreigner spends more money monthly than the average local, that's how you're perceived. One other reason we'll be moving back home, as there is no real security. True, others have been here as guests for 30 years, and there's nothing wrong about that, as they seem to enjoy it here, or at least tolerate things, but it could change at any time, and this is why many of my friends here still have houses back home to return to.

Best to actually watch the video with open ears, and not judge anyone for how they speak, as that has nothing to do with the content. Anyone can be a teacher if they're educated on a particular subject. He makes sense in many of his rhetoric, although some don't want to hear the truth.

Many people learn much of what they know about anything from others videos, which is why it's always best to watch as many as possible, as well as reading up on a particular subject before you look at it as factual. Millions make opinions, and if many are saying the same things, it's more likely the truth, but not always.

AI is what others have put there, and can build more once it's in place, and is usually from a lot of sources also.

If a person is right, it doesn't matter if they can't speak clearly, have an accent, wears makeup, or has a boot on his head, as long as it's the truth.

Some watch a video for a few minutes then judge, much like some do here, skimming and assuming, without fully reading all of what's written. Never works.

Ignoring the trolls, the lack of residency security here for retired expats is the main reason that I keep up on potentially viable PLAN B not home country options outside of Thailand.

But that isn't at all foolproof.

By the time you need to make such a move, it could easily be too late and you would become another good example for the video maker.

We may like to think we are in complete control of our lives and external events but that's a delusion.
