Is retirement in Thailand a ticking time bomb?

CD sound is about as good as it gets. 24 bit being a little better but as far as listening in a car, the CD is more then needed in quality sound. You have no idea why I listen to CD's as you aren't me.

I'm not stuck in 2010. I moved on. Youtube has millions of albums. CDs are useless now as internet is everywhere and I can choose from any band.

500K USD for CD's ??? Okie dokey You do realize when you're gone all your stuff will end up in a yard sale and then the dumps.

Or with my daughter in the house, as she's been turned onto much of my music , just like my other children have, and still listen to now. Nothing lasts forever anyway.

I had 500+ music CDs, eventually put them all on HDD, along with all the other music I go from others. Have them on HDD, but never listen to them. If I get a song in my head, just play it on YT. Same with DVD collection music & movies. Simply download & play. Really don't enjoy watching anything over again, as I've seen so many time.

Trashed and or deleted most things. Along with every time I move, I whittle down all the crap I've been taking from house to house. Most stuff from USA, been trashed or given away. Gave a bunch of cold weather clothes to my daughter's fiancé, as they popped over to JP to enjoy the snow.

Still have a lot, but too expensive to send to my brother. Give to her fiancé again, and if not wanting, can give to a charity at Khlong Toei. Trashed 1000's of photographs, as never look at them, though saved some.

If moved again, if it don't fit in the car, it's not going. Last time, big more, brought a large truck down from Udon to PKK. Then moved from one side of PKK (rental) to house, and it all fit in a pick up.

Have a storage room full of crap didn't even unpack from last move. Wife is like WTF. I figure if I haven't needed or used it in the last 6 months, it's trash to me. She's worse than me on chucking sh!t out.

Got a cabinet full of drones & RC toys. Look nice, but I don't even use them. I'm always thinking about selling everything, and living out of an RV coffee1

Yes, but those 50K CD's and 2000+ movies I like, and I have over 30 rods and 100 reels, which I use for various types of fishing. One doesn't get rid of a collection they've had for decades.

What the different types of fishing you partake in ?

No one's stuck in 2010. it's 2026, but most people like their pasts, and take much of that with them into their futures, including something as entertaining as music and movies. Again, you can't tell anyone on earth how they should live their lives, even your children, although you can turn them onto things you like.

Yeah Ive approx 20,000 CD's I put on HDD's, did this back in the early 00's.

Don't think I have plugged any of the HHD's in my PC in the past 10 years.

Only deep sea for me. We use to charter and go out to the Canyon, off NJ / east coast. Tuna and Sharks were fun. If a bad day, stop for Blues on the way back. Get drunk, stoned, play Pinochle on the way out, take a nap then fish. And repeat on the way back in.

Bingo. When my father died, my mother and sister asked me to collect a list of items from the house. I did so and saw it was all junk. Then I asked them to send a few grand to ship the items to the West Coast. Long story short, it all ended up being sold to a junk dealer for 1500 dollars. Then I helped a disabled friend with the sale of his parents' house, and he insisted it was full of valuable items. It was all junk. People need to realize their personal property is mostly junk.

Many times fishing coastal New Jersey for Bluefish, Weakfish and Fluke, never got the chance for Tuna. Bluefish was incredible back in the 70's and 80's but too many kept too many fish. used to fish until tired on night boats with spinning gear. Now you can only keep a few, which is good .

I like old music but a CD is a piece of junk. It is plastic and metal. Can't use it without a CD player. In a gym, park or beach you can listen to your phone.

Thailand has mostly Catfish, Carp and some predators in pay and fish places, plus ocean fishing. Most lakes here are netted until there's nothing left, besides the private lakes.

That was 40 to 50 years ago.

Just typical fishing in Thailand then.

Still sounds as good as most anything, plus the car sound system handles them well.

You are posting rubbish now. How much lossless music is there on YouTube? I guess none.

Sure fred is a bit eccentric, but so are you. Stop bothering him with your nonsense.

Fishing in New Jersey is still great, as well as all other states, because unlike here, they practice and enforce conservation. Here it's all degradation and greed, killing anything that moves and leaving little for tomorrow.

Long ride out to the canyon. That was the early 90s for me. Moved to Memphis area 1995, then TH 2000.

Can rip it into a lossless format and play it anywhere.

Look who is where to pollute a thread with nonsense.

Yes, I caught some huge Carp and catfish on Phuket on my honeymoon, but the lake 60 meters from my house is almost void of fish as they net it constantly. I'm just waiting to go back to continue the real fishing.

If you don't know then you shouldn't be trying to tell people that the quality of music online is the same as CD quality. You are behaving like an idiot.

Yes, even the Bluefishing went out pretty far, to the humps offshore.

I guess you are still stinging from an earlier encounter... 😊 Get over it, child.

You behave like a little boy. I asked AI and it says 4 minutes to compress a CD. 50 cds times 4 minutes 200 minutes. Waste of time. Just use Youtube.
